Brian Fritz sent this along: On last night's edition of The BS Show on Real Radio 104.1 in Orlando, Florida, J.C., the promoter of Firestorm Pro Wrestling, and independent wrestler J-Roc came on the show to discuss the situation with their situation Jake Roberts over the weekend. TNA star Brother Ray decided to call in and shared his thoughts on it and ripped the promoter. It's quite the moment, which you can hear at http://buckethead.realradio.fm/cc-common/podcast.html.
As reported yesterday, Gregory Helms was backstage at this week's SmackDown/ECW taping. I can now confirm that he was there to film some pre-taped promos, so his in-ring return appears to be imminent. Helms has been out of action since April 2007 while recovering from neck fusion surgery. A few readers sent word that a display box featuring Helms played on the screen while Shelton Benjamin made his entrance.
WWE.com has added a profile on Manu.
The Columbus Dispatch has an article on SmackDown Diva Maria to promote a house show this coming Sunday in Columbus Ohio. Maria said wrestling can be dangerous. "The first time I got slapped in the ring, I had a filling knocked out of my tooth," Kanellis said. "I've been pretty fortunate, though. I've had a split lip, a broken thumb and my shoulders knocked out of whack, but that's about it," Maria said. "It can be very dangerous. We've had wrestlers break their necks."
