Those of you who caught last night’s WEC 36 telecast on Versus, may have noticed the new WEC Featherweight champion, Mike Brown, was in pain as he left the Octagon.

As a result of the telecast running longer than expected, Brown’s condition was never addressed by Todd Harris or Frank Mir. Mike’s manager spoke to FiveOuncesOfPain.com and informed them Brown suffered torn cartilage in his ribs. He was transported to a local hospital immediately after entering the backstage area.

Brown is expected to be sidelined for about four-to-six-weeks. He is said to be doing very well under the circumstances and looks forward to defending his newly won title.
