More Headlines:
According to data compiled by Neilson Media Research, this week's edition of WWE RAW drew a 3.1 cable rating rating, which is up from last week's 3.0 rating. The first hour drew a 2.99 rating and the second hour did with a 3.15. RAW was up against the stiff competition of a Monday Night Football game featuring the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants (getting killed by the Cleveland Browns), so this is good news for WWE.
As I reported earlier, WWE has announced the release of RAW superstar Lance Cade. Cade had been a big part of one of the company's top feuds in recent months (Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho). His interference helped Chris Jericho retain the WWE title in their ladder match at the No Mercy PPV earlier this month. The next night on RAW, Michaels defeated Cade and destroyed him with a steel chair after the match in what turned out to be Cade's final WWE TV appearance. It's interesting to note that Cade was scheduled for several upcoming house show cards at the time of his release.
