- WWE champion Triple H also appeared on FOX5's Good Day New York this morning to discuss WWE moving Smackdown over to MyNetworkTV. Notes from the light-hearted appearance:
*Triple H, wearing a suit but without the WWE championship belt, asked if he was on live TV and pretended to freeze up.
*He said WWE was excited about partnering with MyNetworkTV and showing "another piece of the world" that they are the last great variety show and what an entertaining show they are. He talked about how WWE has a little bit of everything and is the fastest paced two hours on television.
*Triple H said WWE fans are the most passionate, rabid fans, which makes the performers do what they do. He said that stepping out in front of 80,000 fans like they did in Orlando at Wrestlemania earlier this year is an energy that is "like nothing else in the world."
*It was noted he has two kids, but they didn't mention Stephanie McMahon or his relationship to the McMahon family. Triple H said the "old gladiators" had families too but they "killed people for a living." They noted he splits his time between living in New York City and Connecticut.
*It was noted that he wasn't a wrestler, but a Superstar. When asked what would happen if he was called a wrestler, Triple H joked they would have to wrestle. This led to a thumb wrestling challenge between Triple H and one of the anchors.
*When one of the female sports anchors was brought out, Triple H's face lit up and he joked, "Are we going to wrestle too?"
*One of the females noted that his name was actually Paul and he quipped, "You can only find that out on the Internet."
