AEW Full Gear 2019: Wrestlers Missing from the Card

With AEW Full Gear coming up this Saturday night and Wednesday Night Dynamite in the bag, we finally have a better indication of how to go about carrying over the WWE Superstars Missing from the Card series into All Elite Wrestling.

Per usual, this will be a breakdown of the wrestlers confirmed for the AEW roster who have not yet been advertised for the event. Of course, the card is always subject to change and AEW may end up making alterations to this lineup or having any of these wrestlers make an appearance, but at the moment, the men and women in this breakdown are not currently advertised as being part of this event.

In some cases, this may be justified, or even a purposeful plan to set up a surprise. In other cases, it may be ridiculous. That is up to you to decide as we take a look at which superstars aren’t being promoted for this show.

From the Men’s Division

— Anthony Ogogo: He’s yet to make his debut.

— Best Friends (Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy & Trent): These three have no secure feuds going on at the moment. They’ve just been playing filler.

— Brandon Cutler: It seems as though Cutler is one of AEW’s resident enhancement guys who may only get in multi-man matches or some kind of Buy In jobber spot in the future.

— CIMA: For the most part, CIMA has been on the back burner these past bunch of weeks, wrestling mostly on Dark.

— Darby Allin: Not everyone can be sharing the spotlight at the same time. Allin has been treated well and he’ll have his time to shine again very soon, I’m sure.

The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson): On a personal level, I don’t like this team at all and I’m very glad they aren’t involved. From an objective standpoint, they lost their match against Private Party, which would have earned them a spot on this card.

— Dustin Rhodes: The attack from The Inner Circle basically wrote him off. However, he may make an appearance to help even the odds with Jericho and Cody, if need be.

— The Hybrid 2 (Angélico & Jack Evans): These guys are Dark and filler people and nowhere near the top of the tag team pyramid to be working on this card.

— Jake Hager: There’s no way he doesn’t show up, unless there’s a prior commitment. Other than that, he has to appear with The Inner Circle.

— Jimmy Havoc: Havoc would have been on this card if they had room for another match, I feel. They seem to like involving him in a lot of things, but he has no feud going on right now to make sure there’s a spot for.

Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus & Marko Stunt): Luchasaurus is still injured. Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt had to step aside while three more legitimate tag teams will fight for the tag titles.

— Kip Sabian: I’m curious what their plans are for Sabian. He seems like a midcard guy that they don’t want to forget about, but don’t want to push to any sort of prominence any time soon. Maybe there are just bigger fish to fry all the time.

— MJF: Either AEW continually has no idea what to do with him for months now, or there is a strategy in mind to limit him so people don’t turn on him. Sometimes, a little can go a long way, and MJF is a future major star if they don’t screw him up. I’m hoping this is a plan to protect him and not just a matter of never knowing who to pair him with.

Michael Nakazawa: Have you seen Office Space? Michael’s Naka..naka..nakonna wrestle on this card.

— Peter Avalon: Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

— QT Marshall: It seems Marshall is more of a behind the scenes guy who will get to wrestle here and there and not actually be someone worth investing in. Basically, he’s another Brandon Cutler, but lower on the totem pole.

— Sammy Guevara: While he isn’t scheduled for a match, he’ll definitely get involved in The Inner Circle’s dealings.

— Sonny Kiss: No feuds. No storylines. Nothing to build around. Kiss just doesn’t have a reason to be on this card.

— Wardlow: He’s yet to make his debut.

From the Women’s Division

Like above, I had planned on writing out some more detailed breakdowns of each member of the women’s division and their standing outside of this event. However, every single one of them has the exact same situation. They simply aren’t involved in any feuds, so there isn’t some big oversight in not booking them.

But maybe you’re still wondering who was left out in the cold. Well, we still don’t know if some people are on the roster like Big Swole, so I’ll leave them out. But for now, these are the confirmed women on the roster who aren’t scheduled for Full Gear: Allie, Awesome Kong, Brandi Rhodes, Hikaru Shida, Leva Bates, Nyla Rose, Penelope Ford, Sadie Gibbs, Shanna, Yuka Sakazaki.

Do you think these men and women or any others not on this list should have been booked on the card in some fashion? How would you have utilized them if given the opportunity? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
