I just want to come out before I dive into this prediction column and say if WWE expects big numbers from this PPV then they have officially lost their minds. Look just at the card and how they built things up it should be a card that has some good matches but nothing to go out of your way and pay 60-65 bucks for. The build to this PPV has been poor in the nicest terms. Onto the card:
WWE Title Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. The Big Show
After all that has done to the Big Show he finally gets his title shot and his revenge on Randy Orton. Big Show has had to suffer so much and gets his hands on Orton. I expect a good match but there is something about it makes me feel like, seen it before and I could care less about it. You want your main event to be the top of the card and have fans feel like they can’t miss it. I don’t see how the Big Show or Randy Orton walks out of this match with a clean victory. Expect a flub finish (someone gets DQ or counted out. They may even goes as far as throwing a swerve and have the Shield interfere. I don’t expect them to double turn as there are some rumors about it.) will see a rematch at TLC in December.
Prediction: Big Show goes mad and gets DQ
World Heavyweight Title Match: John Cena (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio
The build into HIAC PPV was poor and I can’t say I’m excited about seeing this match but aside from the arm wrestling segment on Smackdown, I like the way they have built this feud up. I do expect a rematch at TLC but I’m still trying to figure out how they can do a finish where it makes fans want to see it again. Yet again who does? Cena hits an AA for the win and we get a rematch at TLC to settle this feud.
Prediction: Cena retains
CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. Wyatt Family
In my opinion this should be the Main Event of the show. These guys will have the match of the night with totally different styles. Wyatt’s are hard hitting and in your face wrestlers. As Punk and Bryan are more high flyers/ technical style. Expect this to be a show stealer and I see Punk alongside Bryan get their revenge on the Wyatt Family.
Prediction: Punk & Bryan get revenge
Traditional Survivor Series Match: Rhode Brothers, The Uso’s & Rey Mysterio vs. The Shield & The Real Americans
The people in this match have the possibility of having a really good match but it feels like a thrown together match than anything. Sure these teams have a history with each other but we these matches on Raw and Smackdown on a weekly bases. We just saw a 12 man tag match on Raw involving The Shield, The Uso’s and the Rhode Brothers. Why should I pay for or care about this match. It’s just those things that I think WWE overlooks or right now creative does care about.
Prediction: The Shield & The Real Americans get the upset win.
Intercontinental Title Match: Big E. Langston (c) vs. Curtis Axel
Langston of course won on Raw this past Monday and i still think it could have been more special if he won it on this show. They will have a decent short match but this is the end of the line for Axel against Big E. Where does both men go from here its a guessing game.
Traditional Survivor Series Match:
AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka, Alicia Fox, Summer Rae, Aksana, Kaitlyn & Rosa Mendes vs. “Team Total Divas” The Bella Twins, The Funkadactyls, Natalya, Eva Marie & JoJo
Once again another thrown together match that gets all of the Divas on the Show. Just for fun and a bathroom break. In my eyes it’s a no brainier, “Team Total Divas” gets the win.
Prediction: “Team Total Divas”
Pre-Show: The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston
Miz turned heel on Raw in a tag match with Kofi, therefore we have this match. Instead of going with wrestling 101 I’m going with the swerve and have the Miz barley win. (Quick roll up) this feud will carry onto WWE TV.
Prediction: The Miz
This is Survivor Series but feels more like another WWE attempt to just get money out of their fans and put a product on the screen to just get revenue.
Expect the Punk and Bryan vs. Wyatt Family, and the men Traditional Survivor Series Match to steal the show.
