Bold Predictions for WWE Payback

The WWE heads to the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois tomorrow for its second annual WWE Payback pay-per-view. This will mark the first time since the 2012 TLC pay-per-view that the WWE Championship will not be defended as a result of current champion Daniel Bryan’s neck injury.

And so without further delay, here’s what to expect:

The WWE Tag Team Championship will not be defended.

Even though only six matches (not counting the pre-show match) have been announced, don’t expect a match between Jey & Jimmy Uso versus Erick Rowan and Luke Harper to take place during Payback as two matches (John Cena versus Bray Wyatt and Evolution versus The Shield) are expected to be given plenty of time. Instead, expect the tag team titles to be put on the line on RAW the following night as a result.

Stephanie McMahon will “fire” Brie Bella.

Also featured on Payback will be Daniel Bryan deciding on whether to give up his WWE Championship with the stipulation that if Bryan does not give up his title then Stephanie McMahon will “fire” his wife, WWE Diva Brie Bella.

It has been rumored that Brie Bella and Bryan wants to start a family in the near future,  then expected the latter to happen, which will result in a future feud between McMahon and Brie Bella down the road.

John Cena will defeat Bray Wyatt.

Bray Wyatt and his cohorts have been a constant thorn on John Cena’s side ever since the Royal Rumble pay-per-view last January. Even though Cena defeated Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX, Wyatt got his revenge at Extreme Rules thanks in large part to a member of the children’s choir.

Now, it’s all or nothing for these two men as they face each other in a rubber match. Look for Cena to emerge on top, ending his feud with Wyatt once and for all.

The Evolution will defeat The Shield.

Even though The Shield defeated Evolution at Extreme Rules, Triple H vowed that his beef with his ex-bodyguards is far from over as he, along with Randy Orton and Batista have been making life miserable for Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns.

Even though Batista is rumored to take some time off so that he could promote his upcoming film, “The Guardians of the Galaxy,” expect Evolution to defeat The Shield thanks in large part to a possible new member. As for who the new Evolution member might be, I like Sheamus as I expect him to lose the United States Championship to Cesaro. Sheamus is seen as one of Triple H’s good friends as he would be a better fit than guys like Cody Rhodes, The Miz, or Dolph Ziggler.
