No action was standout. Nothing happens in it that I haven’t seen done better in another action film. Likewise, no comedy made me really crack up out loud.
Much of it is hollow and I feel like for 2 and a half hours, I didn’t get much for my time. It’s kind of like eating a meal where you’re still left hungry afterward, but you know you ate those calories.
See It or Skip It:
Skip it. Don’t waste your time. It won’t give you the rush of playing a video game of a similar style. You won’t feel dramatically satisfied. The action wasn’t interesting enough to fulfill that aspect, either.
If you want a better funny zombie film, watch Zombieland. For a more substantial drama, watch a Forrest Gump or something (obviously not about zombies). If it’s horror you want, there are tons of better zombie films or just flat out better thriller types, like The Silence of the Lambs. And lastly, if you want a shoot-em-up action flick that’s dumb and just gets the testosterone flowing, watch an old Arnold Schwarzenegger film like Predator.
This didn’t do it for me, but I’ll still check out the next thing Dave Bautista is in that piques my curiosity.
