Kevin Owens, the man who put his “former best-friend” Sami Zayn on the shelf because he did not want to be out-shined. Kevin Owens, one of the most talented superstars today and during his run in NXT. Kevin Owens, the man who defeated John Cena in his first match in WWE. This superstar is one of the most talented men on the roster and plays a great heel inside and outside of the ring. On August 29th, 2016 Kevin Owens won the Universal Championship with the surprising help of Triple H. WWE fans thought this was the beginning of a new road in the WWE. With new talent challenging Owens for the title, refreshing matches and most importantly a young talent, that for the most part everyone enjoyed, would be the face of Monday Night RAW. What most fans thought, turned out to be the complete opposite in the form of one of the most cowardly championship runs of any WWE champion in recent history. Since becoming WWE Universal Champion, most of Owens’s victories have come from outside interference from his former “best-friend” Chris Jericho or any other way WWE creative could compile to “slide” Owens out of his matches. At the upcoming RAW exclusive PPV “Fastlane” on March 5th, WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens will go one-on-one with Goldberg. Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar at the 2016 Survivor Series in one-minute and twenty-six seconds completely erasing away every feat Lesnar had accomplished in WWE months and years prior since his initial return in 2012. If Goldberg was set to defeat one of the most dominant guys in the company in 1:26, there is not much hope for Owens.

Before Owens laid waste to his former best friend Chris Jericho on the February 13th edition of Monday Night RAW, many believed Jericho would increase Owens’s chances of retaining. Triple H was shown talking to Kevin Owens right before his attack on Jericho so maybe that dynamic will play a role in the match vs. Goldberg. WWE may have different plans and could pull a fast one over our eyes and Kevin Owens could still be Universal Champion going into WrestleMania. But, it is very unlikely that Goldberg is not walking out of Milwaukee with the WWE Universal Championship and walking into his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 with the title on the line. After March 5th, Kevin Owens will have the feud with Chris Jericho to finish, but as far as being a “top guy” in the company, Owens possibly will never be looked at seriously in that light again after this mediocre title run is finished.
