Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin

I think we can all agree that WWE creative just has nothing, well, creative for most of the bigger names on the RAW brand. This is unbelievably unnecessary. How many times are we going to these two fight? Nobody looks good in this feud, because this is a feud that should have ended a long time ago. If this was the Braun Strowman fo 2017, Corbin would probably still be selling an injury from him. However, since we are dealing with the 2019 version, it means we need a longer, more drawn-out feud. Meanwhile, Corbin still chooses to wear an Olive Garden suit for some reason and is not doing anything productive. No one wins here, and no one should care who wins, because no one gets anything out of this. Strowman wins this, but this is something that could have easily been settled on an episode of RAW.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Ronda Rousey (C) vs. Ruby Riott – RAW Women’s Championship

Last year, Ruby Riott challenged Charlotte for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Fastlane, and this year, she is challenging Ronda for the RAW Women’s Title. If this doesn’t symbolize Ruby as anything more than a pit stop as opposed to a main contender, I do not know what is. We are not actually dealing with a substantive feud here, as this is clearly just something for Ronda to do before she faces Becky at WrestleMania. I suppose this is also present to remind us that Ruby is an actual person on the roster that gets paid to do sports entertainment stuff. She wasn’t even featured heavily on RAW because no one really cares about her. Ronda wins this one handily.

Winner: Ronda Rousey

Bobby Lashley (C) and Lio Rush vs. Finn Balor – Intercontinental Championship

So, we go from Finn challenging for the Universal Title to a match where Finn can pin a member of the Cruiserweight division in order to win his first singles title since his 1 day Universal Title reign. If that isn’t a signal of how turbulent Finn’s career on the main roster has been thus far, I do not know what is. I can dig Finn going after the Intercontinental Title in the same way Seth Rollins was going after it last year. However, the feud is kind of nonsensical.

Finn didn’t antagonize Lashley and it wasn’t the case vice-versa. Finn is here to give us a little “I tried my best” speech after losing to Lesnar, and then Bobby and Lio come out to say, “Yeah, you lost but look at Lashley and his butt. You don’t stand a chance.” That’s no way to build a feud to make me care about the Intercontinental Title. Finn hasn’t really shown up in a big match situation yet, and I’d like to think he gets his moment here, but I don’t trust WWE to pull the trigger yet.

Winner: Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush

Buddy Murphy (C) vs. Akira Tozawa – Cruiserweight Championship

Unfortunately, I can’t say that I have been paying much attention to what the Cruiserweight Division has been doing these days. Ever since Mustafa Ali has been a full-time member of the Smackdown roster, I have been tuning even less. That doesn’t take away from the quality of Murphy’s matches every time I see them. He still manages to knock it out of the park. I can’t suspect that they will have Tozawa win here one on one, but I do think we have a good match on our hands if given the time.

Winner: Buddy Murphy

The Miz (C) and Shane McMahon (C) vs. The Usos – Smackdown Tag Team Championship

I’ll be honest in saying that I cannot see The Miz and Shane McMahon tag team tandem lasting into WrestleMania. It’s likely to me that one will turn on the other and they have a match at WrestleMania unless they decide to do what I wanted from the start, and that is to have The Miz face Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title. Well, whatever we got right now is what we got, and I just can’t see The Miz and Shane continuing to beat established tag teams forever. It’s just a matter of when they lose the title, and who they will lose it to. The Usos always and will forever remain a safe choice to put the tag titles on, because since their initial heel turn a few years ago, they have been one of the rock-solid tag teams WWE has had to offer. It’s hard to tell what WWE is up to sometimes, but I do think that they’ll milk this thing past Elimination Chamber and break up right before WrestleMania.

Winners: The Miz and Shane McMahon

Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Nia Jax and Tamina vs. Absolution vs. The IIconics vs. Carmella and Naomi vs. The Riott Squad – Women’s Tag Team Titles (Tag Team Elimination Chamber Match)

I wrote about my concerns about the women’s tag team division the other week. I just do not think the women’s roster has enough depth to have enough serious contenders for the women’s tag titles, especially if the titles will be exclusive to the brand the winners of this match are on. Even if it can crossover from RAW to Smackdown, you’ll still have random single competitors patched up together, making it seem more like a title that is made just to give certain superstars something. I’m for the tag titles, I just think we need to think about how the titles will be defended and who they challengers will be. Two of these tag teams are just randomly paired together, while the other four have been together often enough before. I have Sasha and Bayley winning because they were the two campaigning for it for the longest time. Makes sense to give it to them with the titles actually here.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Bayley

Daniel Bryan (C) vs. Samoa Joe vs. Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs Kofi Kingston – WWE Championship (Elimination Chamber Match)

Well, Tuesday night was quite the night for one Kofi Kingston, wasn’t it? We often forget that he’s one of the more decorated superstars in WWE, and all he needs is the WWE Championship in order to become a Grand Slam Champion. That being said, pinning the WWE Champion, Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe all in succession practically guarantees that he will not have a chance of winning here. All the more considering that he is Mustafa Ali’s replacement. Jeff Hardy isn’t exactly a strong option to put the WWE Title on, either, as he is just kind of here these days. Samoa Joe NEVER wins a big match and I have no reason to believe that WWE will give him a win here. I can’t believe Styles will win simply because he’s spent the majority of last year with the title. Then, there’s Randy Orton, who will enter the chamber match last due to winning the gauntlet match. He’s an interesting option, but I just don’t see it with him either. Daniel Bryan makes the most sense in lieu of his new WWE Title and new persona.

Winner: Daniel Bryan
