5) “Are you a fan of Brodie Lee as The Exalted One?”
MANGO: I’m glad they tried, but no, I’m not too big on this. The name Brodie Lee doesn’t strike fear in me, for one. The white coat and the singlet ring gear doesn’t fit. I don’t get that he’s the leader of Dark Order the way I did with Evil Uno (but I’m not a fan of Evil Uno, so I’m glad he’s not the figurehead anymore). I like the vignettes and I think Lee is solid in the ring, but I’d like to see a lot of tweaks to this character. The current iteration just isn’t working for me.
ABSLER: I am a huge fan of Brodie Lee as the Exalted One. He is ominous, dominating, and convincing. AEW is really letting Lee open up creatively and show people a skillset on the mic that many mainstream WWE fans never knew he had. He is very solid in the ring and has elevated the Dark Order from just another stable to one of the most dangerous groups in wrestling.
STAPLE: I’m happy they’re actually doing something with him as opposed to just dressing him up as a Viking and doing nothing. But the character here is kind of generic and the feud with Moxley is very lukewarm to me. Being affiliated with The Dark Order hasn’t set me on fire since that faction hasn’t been all that hot to me too.
