For this particular volume, we’ll be focusing on WWE Money in the Bank 2020.

1) “Since competitors have to climb the corporate ladder this year, shouldn’t it be a brass ring instead of a briefcase that they’re trying to grab?”
MANGO: Obviously, when I pitched this question, it was a sarcastic joke. But now that I’ve had some time to think about it, I’m honestly kind of digging the idea for that to happen at some point…kind of. I’d never want the briefcase itself to be replaced, but if AEW or another promotion were to do their own equivalent of this type of gimmick match, maybe they should go with a brass ring as a joke or something.
EWING: While it’s a unique perspective, I can’t see the briefcase being replaced with a “brass ring”.
STAPLE: No, primarily because Brass Ring In The Bank doesn’t roll of the tongue as much. But can you think how how funny it would be if Otis were to grab the brass ring? Ziggler may request his release right there.
ABSLER: I’ve never thought of it like that before, but that is a very cleaver idea. If just for this year, WWE put two brass rings up there which still represent a title shot anytime, I would be a fan of that idea.
DUNNING: I think a brass ring would be a little too much on the nose. Best to keep it traditional so when they go to cash it in at a later date, the crowd can see the briefcase and react better to it being handed over for a title opportunity.
SCAFIDE: I like the gimmick. It only makes sense for the brass ring idea over the briefcase. The only downside is what does it achieve by grabbing the “brass ring”? Is it like a King of the Ring type deal where they can proclaim certain monikers that are attached to their name? There wouldn’t be a future cash-in with a brass ring over a briefcase, and thus loses its potential in the future. Great idea, but where does it go from Sunday? If there was a long term need, I’d say go for it. But you need to cash in a briefcase for the championship, not a brass ring.
