Welcome to another edition of eWN Round Table, where we gather some of the most active writers here on eWrestlingNews and share the platform to answer some questions surrounding a centralized topic, upcoming event, etc.

This is meant to showcase the potential for both a wide range of perspectives as well as how sometimes, there can be a group consensus no matter what your viewpoint is, so we also invite all of you to join in on the discussion by answering these questions yourself in the comments section below.

For this particular volume, we’ll be focusing on both nights of WWE WrestleMania 36.

Participants for this round = Anthony Mango, Steve Mitchell, Ethan Absler, Bradley Jay, Richard Staple, Steve Cook and John Scafide.

1) “Which match are you most excited to see on this pay-per-view?”

MANGO: It would have been the Triple Threat Ladder Match if all parties could have participated. Without that and with no crowd, I’m worried about everything. Even Edge vs. Randy Orton might not feel right. But if I had to pick, Daniel Bryan against Sami Zayn is my best bet to work despite the environment.

MITCHELL: I’m actually looking forward to the gimmick matches of Taker VS Styles: Boneyard Match, and Fiend VS Cena: Firefly Fun House. If they get to be pre-filmed, I would love if the WWE went all out for those.

ABSLER: I am most excited for McIntyre vs Lesnar because I badly want to see Lesnar lose the title and this is one of the only matches that has had a consistent build all the way around. Some matches have been scratched completely, other matches have changed locations like Undertaker vs AJ Styles, but this match has at least always remained about the WWE title which allows fans to actually get excited for it.

JAY: There have been 2 memorable Mania matches in the last 5 years. Daniel Bryan versus Randy Orton & Batista, and Bryan versus Kofi Kingston. Simple math says the match with the most potential is Sami Zayn versus Bryan.

STAPLE: Easily Edge and Randy Orton. Not only are these my two favorite superstars of all time, but FREAKING EDGE IS BACK.

COOK: I’m a big Rhea Ripley fan. I think she’s got all the potential in the world and should be the future of WWE’s women’s wrestling. Like her or not, Charlotte Flair has been one of the best in-ring workers WWE has produced on the distaff side. This has the potential to be one of the best women’s matches we’ve seen in years, which is saying something. It’s also been a pretty interesting story. Rhea might be the future, and we get the chance to find out if the future is now.

SCAFIDE: I wouldn’t go so far to say I’m most excited about it, but I’m sure intrigued by the Boneyard Match. The updated Undertaker look is what 2020 needs and AJ is just a workhorse, so I’m anticipating this gimmick match being exactly what it needs to be on a WrestleMania card without a live crowd. I just can’t imagine an Undertaker match without a crowd anyway, so having this outside in what looks to be a casket-style match, is a gimmick that makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is the build for it, but eh, you can only control so much I suppose.
