Full Gear Fallout vs Survivor Series Go-Home for WarGames (Monday Morning Q&A)

Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.

So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!

1) If you had to give one wrestler the MVP trophy from Full Gear, who would it be?

Credit to a lot of people who put on a great show, obviously, but if we’re limiting it to just one, it has to be MJF.

In the grand scheme of things, as much as I enjoyed Jungle Boy’s match with Luchasaurus or Chris Jericho’s four-way or anything like that, the biggest talking point is definitely still MJF. And he not only was the main event and won the biggest prize, he also did a great job selling the babyface dynamic throughout the match.

That was pretty perfect. Hats off to a lot of people, but the award goes to MJF.

2) What are your predictions for the matches announced for Dynamite?

  • Now that MJF is back to being a heel, I think Ricky Starks beats Ethan Page.
  • Orange Cassidy retains the All-Atlantic Championship over Jake Hager.
  • Chris Jericho retains the ROH World Championship over Tomohiro Ishii.
  • Death Triangle wins the next match in the Best of 7 Series since everyone would expect The Elite to counter their loss from Full Gear.

3) Which matches do you think will be added to the Survivor Series card?

I guess the World Cup isn’t going to end in time to get Gunther against Braun Strowman on the card. Then again, with this being a FOX thing, I suppose they never would have wanted that on the Peacock stream, anyway. It was always going to be a SmackDown television defense.

Most champions are tied up in something already. The only other one outside of Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship is if we get a United States Championship match. Seth Rollins in a Fatal 4-Way against Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley and Mustafa Ali seems like a safe bet. Or, maybe they just nix Ali and do a Triple Threat.

They’re holding off on Dexter Lumis vs. The Miz. I don’t think Matt Riddle and Elias against Alpha Academy warrants being on this card.

Maybe Bray Wyatt against LA Knight happens here? I’d rather that than another promo from Wyatt, at least.

4) Last call. Who is the final member of Bianca Belair’s team for WarGames?

Even though Candice LeRae, Dana Brooke and Raquel Rodriguez and others have had their issues with Damage CTRL, I think we’re looking at only two names. If it isn’t Becky Lynch ready to go, I think we’re coming back around to Beth Phoenix so she can have that match—in a sense—with Rhea Ripley.

Between those two options, though, I’m FIRMLY in the camp that this is Lynch. They’re making a big deal out of waiting and she’s the biggest name they could possibly bring in to do this. Plus, she went out at SummerSlam with the debut of Damage CTRL, so it makes sense.

5) What do you think of the Iron Survivor Challenge concept?

It seems messy. I’m not sure it’ll work. There are too many elements to keep track of for it to feel natural, and for it to be a simple enough match to book. You have to try to balance out staggering entrants who need to score a certain amount of points in a designated time frame while some people are in the penalty box, and only for 90 seconds, which means just when the audience is getting used to them not being in the match, they’re coming back in?

It seems like it would be much more effective, in my mind, if they at least started everyone at the same time. Then, keep the penalty box thing, but make it every 2 minutes, and it just means if you take a loss, you have an even bigger deficit you have to come back from and you’re wasting time that you can potentially score a point.

If you start the match with only 5 minutes left and you need to make up all those points, it seems horribly unfair, and trying to book someone to come in and rush a few pinfalls just to run up that score will probably be hard to believe.

I’m also just not a fan of the name. It’s clunky.
