With Seth Rollins out for 8 months and a huge WrestleMania match ruined, WWe needs to come up with some stellar plans to still sellout the biggest WrestleMania ever. We all love wrestling and we’ve loved some of the calls they’ve made, and hated some as well. If we were Creative we would have booked things differently. So here are some of my suggestions that I think would be best for WWe going forward and ending with some match suggestions for WrestleMania. So feel free to critique them, add to, or take away, because as fans, That’s just what we do. So lets jump face first into the millions, and millions, of ideas that everyone thinks would be best, for business!
Divas MITB – How big would WrestleMania be if they had the first ever Divas MITB Ladder Match? All the Divas in a MITB where the winner gets a shot at the Divas title whenever, wherever she wanted. It would bring some praise and surprises to the Divas Division! Its time for the Divas Revolution to take another step.
WWe Contract Match – With Seth out and no one to face Triple H; leader of the Authority, there’s only one name that the fans will get behind instantly and that’s Daniel Bryan. Daniel can start off by wanting the title since he was stripped and now Seth will be stripped, the Authority against it and calling Daniel weak and breakable and just can’t handle WWe anymore. Daniel protests and get the fans behind him on every raw until Triple H makes a WrestleMania match Daniel Bryan vs. a person of Triple H’s choosing and if Daniel wins then he can come back and compete. Now we know Daniel is will be ready by WrestleMania and they can always use him like Brock as a part time performer where he’s only having matches for the big ppvs till he really gets back in the swing and doctors say he’s 100%. Even using Daniel Bryan sparingly would jump ratings. This is also a Golden spot for Triple H to bring in a NXT star to debute at a WrestleMania and steal the show with Bryan. Daniel Bryan vs. Finn Balor!Sheamus – There’s one thing Sheamus can do that no one in the WW has ever done before. If he can become WWe Champion before WrestleMania, and go in with in Ace in his sleeve so that if he does lose the WWe Title, can cash in on the spot to try and get it back. No WWe Champion has ever held the title and a MITB Case both would give Sheamus a leg up in a heel feud with the Authority. It would be entertaining to see if he can get it back or if he’ll cash in and end up losing two matches in the same WrestleMania.
Dolph Ziggler – Dolph vs. Tyler Breeze may happen before WrestleMania but that doesn’t mean the feud is over. Let it continue till WM and evolve in to a Tag Team match of Tyler Breeze and Fandango vs. Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho. Have a one-up on the intro’s where Tyler Breeze comes out with Summer Rae on his arm, and Fandango comes out with Rosa Mendez on his arm, then give Dolph and Chris each a celebrity female on their arm, just like HBK and Diesel did back in the day. Maybe Scarlett Johansson for Dolph and Y2J being a music artist, I think fans would appreciate him coming out with Maria Brink.
Roman Reigns – As much as we loved him in The Shield, we hated how much Vince pushed him and although he’s improved a lot, specially on the mic, he’s still not ready to be THE MAN. There’s a chance they can put the belt on him and he joins the Authority for a top Heel run and people hate him now so he’ll get over even faster but that wouldn’t be my choice for Roman. I think Roman should be swerved away from the WWe title and put in a Tag Team with Baron Corbin. They have a look and style that compliment each other and they could help build up the Tag Team Division. I also believe that as long as its not the WWe title, fans would get behind there being gold on him. His time will come, but not yet.Brock Lesnar – He ended his rivalry with the Dead Man, and although he can go take back his WWE title whenever he wants to, Brock is looking to destroy another legend, the biggest legend. So at WrestleMania there’s only one true opponent for him; The Rock. This should start at the Rumble by Brock drawing #1 and The Rock drawing #2 and the feud starts there.
Paul Heyman – As the best mouth piece around its a crying shame that WWe hasn’t given him a full timer to become a “Paul Heyman Guy”. Granted Brock has few work days but those on the roster who need a boost and don’t have the mic skills could greatly benefit from being managed by Paul who is skillful enough to manage them as a heel or a face. One who has talent but horrible mic skills? Neville comes to mind.
Dean Ambrose – As the modern day lunatic he’s nothing if not entertaining. Imagine if he went heel with the Authority, won the title, and then Sheamus Cashes in on him and takes it. A storyline feud between Sheamus as a Heel Champ, constantly being stalked and harass by a lunatic till he gets a shot at bringing the belt back to the Authority, which is fine with Dean because the Authority has given him free reign to do whatever he wants to whoever he wants. In a Heel vs. Crazy Heel feud could be entertaining for a few months. Lets face it, Dean would love to be a heel a lot more than he should and for Sheamus it would be fresh for fans to see how a Heel Champion deals with the Authority and how it’d differ from how the traditional face did.
The Undertaker – I hope they don’t throw tarnish him anymore than they have. By ending his streak, cheating to win, having him submit, and then jumped by a gang at a pivotal moment, things have not looked good for taker recently. I expect Creative to ruin the angle with the Wyatt’s by throwing it away quickly for no reason like they have with other angles but there is still potential here. a huge push for WrestleMania would be to keep it going to culminate in The Brother’s of Destruction; Taker/Kane vs. Bray/Harper in a first time ever Tag Team Casket Match. I can already see OMG Moment of the Year, being Kane choke slamming Harper on top of the Casket and him going through it.
Kane – As one who was never big on promo’s and about to retire soon, it would be fitting that he go out the way he came in. The Undertaker should say “I’m doing this because it has to be done”, and then in one of Kane’s matches, Taker interrupts by pulling Kane down into a hole in the ring, for Kane to emerge later on as the original Kane with his original mask and Red outfit. The monster who didn’t need to speak and let his actions speak for him, he could do one last respectable run and not be a jobber for the end of his career like Mark Henry. The best Kane was the original Kane.
Rhonda Rousey – Lets just be real about this and admit that Dana White won’t let this happen. So they need to plan for the next best thing and that’s Sasha Banks vs. Stephanie McMahon, or shall we say Boss vs. The Boss. Sasha is the prime choice to face Stephanie and even if they pull off another Rhonda one-off, after the match Stephanie can jump Sasha and Rhonda hops the barrier to make the save.
Cody/Stardust – there is a great gimmick that can be done here with Stardust having split personalities. Backstage vignettes where Stardust is having conversations with Cody Rhodes in a mirror who’s trapped there by Stardust. They can record the conversations as Cody and as Stardust then green screen in Cody into the mirror to show the elaborate conversations and arguments. Then as the gimmick goes on, Cody takes over and takes off the paint and wrestles as Cody Rhodes a face, but then Stardust takes over and the next raw he’s the Heel stardust and everyone notices but him so he can play dual roles at the same time with a gimmick storyline all by himself that’s entertaining. Eventually in the end, Cody wins and will end up a face that’s really over with the crowd.
Alicia Fox – She is talented and it shows that she wants to be more than just a wrestler, she wants to entertain and she was the most over when she was crazy but they didn’t really let her run with it. I would have Alicia lose a match and have a really huge Mental Breakdown. Attacking the Bellas would totally put her over with the fans. She gets arrested and taken away, and the next time we see her and she’s looking full on crazy. Crazy messed up hair, makeup smeared and runny eye-liner, wearing a white straight jacket and prison orange pants, she gets wheeled to the ring in a wheelchair by two males dressed in all white like those in the psych ward. They take off the straight jacket and she has her matches then they struggle to get her back in it. It would be too easy for her to get the crowd chanting “let her out! let her out!” before all of her matches. She has the talent to entertain and we are in a world where the divas have the most bland intro’s ever. Not a single Diva uses smoke, fire, fog, pyro, lighting effects, ect. Alicia could stand out and shine and we know she wants to be different and do what other divas wouldn’t. We don’t have AJ anymore, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need a new kind of crazy.
John Cena – The man every fan wants to retire but we know he won’t anytime soon. From the articles about Careers that never recovered after a Cena feud, we know fans are tired of him burying talent and being the top spot as much as he has. In WWe he’s done everything there is to do but challenge Taker at WrestleMania but with the streak done he doesn’t even have that. The Undertaker was always able to do the one thing that Cena could never do, and that’s stay relevant without a title. Now we all know the Hogan Style Heel turn for Cena is a fans wet dream. We would take a heel Cena but we know if it does happen it won’t be anytime soon. So what could they do with Cena to keep him going but not bury others in the process? I have one idea. Make John Cena lose. Now before you applaud that or bash it please hear me out first. Braun Strowman is the new big man in town. Start at the Rumble and build up a feud with Cena and set up the match for WrestleMania and have John Cena lose cleanly. John Cena doesn’t give up so on Raw he has a match and he loses that too, then again, and again. He can’t figure out why he can’t win anymore. He goes on a huge losing streak. Losing to Top Tier guys, mid card guys, low carders, and more NXT members as well. He doubts the “Never Give Up” and after a year of losing he finally gets a win. Cena says he’s kept a list of everyone he’s lost to and he plans on redeeming those short comings. And so he has his 1 on 1 rematches all the way back up the list that culminates with a rematch against Braun Strowman. Now this might seem unfair to feed everyone who’s beaten Cena back to him but think about it this way, it keeps him relevant as he sells a ton of merchandise which WWe loves, and it gives him a purpose to be around and not be in title pictures for quite sometime and that is what’s best for fans and business.Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose – It can happen, it will happen, it should happen, but not yet. The Shield has fractured once already and it happening between the remaining members shouldn’t be a throw away event. Bringing in Baron Corbin and having Roman hanging out with him more and more to show that divide and then Dean snaps goes heel and attacks Roman, joining the Authority and turning on Roman using Baron as the excuse to set up Roman vs. Dean for SummerSlam. Right now a heel turn for Dean is all but obvious and mostly expected Dean going Heel after WM would be a better story going forward.
New Stable – We can’t really leave Race out of it because its a Race based theme but they have the chance to start a new stable of Jack Swagger, Alberto Del Rio and they can bring in Apollo Crews and for a stable called “One Nation” representing the Caucasian, the African American, and the Mexican races of America, all led by good old Zeb. There is plenty of feud potential with the New Day as well as the Wyatt’s. So stand up, put your right hand over your heart, and in a clear loud voice say with me, We The People!
The Best Save Ever! – A short intermission between matches at WrestleMania shows The Miz hosting his Show in the ring but before he can bring out his guest, The Ascension comes out and jumps The Miz. Destroying the set and beating up the Miz. Then the Miz’s music hits and its Mizdow coming to the aid of the Miz! The crowd would eat this up. Neither the Miz or Mizdow are doing anything right now so they might as well be a tag team again.
Celebs/Performers – WrestleMania has lacked real celeb star power in recent years and I can’t say if that’s from WWe not willing to pay out for the appearance or if celebs were turning down offers just because its, well, wrestling. WWe needs to get stars like Chris Pratt, John Oliver, Jennifer Laurence, Eminem, Vin Diesel, ect. How much money would it cost for WWe to get Kanye West to be ring side, then as soon as the bell rings for the Daniel Bryan vs. Finn Balor match, have Kanye jump the barricade, grab a mic, hop in the ring and says “Yo, I’mma let yall finish but Finn Balor had the best intro” and then go return to his seat. Priceless. If Vince could set up a Nikki Minaj vs. Miley Cyrus altercation that would be worldwide trending but with the beef between them being more real than not I could see this going from staged to not staged in record time.
Here’s my dream WM card and if you have better or different ideas please share them in the comments and if we’re lucky, maybe someone in Creative who’s struggling for some ideas will wonder by here.
