Is Ronda Rousey ready to defend her title against Nia Jax at WWE TLC?

Ronda Rousey will once again put her title on the line, as she will face Nia Jax for the RAW Women’s Championship at WWE TLC pay-per-view, on December 16.

The question is whether the current champion is 100% ready and focused to battle Jax and defend her title.

It seems Rousey has her sights set on fighting Charlotte Flair, just a few days after their brutal Survivor Series match.

Although the former UFC champion won by disqualification, she saw Flair make one of her best performances and dominate her.

Since then, she is more focused on her rematch with the “Queen” (which will happen, but nobody knows when) than her match with Jax.

The former champion, on the other hand, seems to be on a roll lately, not only by becoming the number one contender to Rousey’s title, but by breaking SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch’s nose and preventing the latter from participating at Survivor Series.

With Tamina in her corner, Jax looks very confident, while the WWE has made her one of the faces of the women’s division.

It seems the creative team has decided to proceed with Flair, Lynch, Rousey and Jax as the top female wrestlers and that’s why most storylines revolve around them.

What is also likely to happen is for the WWE to have Rousey drop the title to Jax, due to an outside interference by Flair or Lynch.

In such a way, the storyline could lead to a match between the three top wrestlers either at the Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania 35.

Rousey has already proved she is a fighting champion, while the creative team has made her look like the “baddest woman on the planet”.

But, right now, she seems more determined to face Charlotte than prepare for her match against Jax.

It is not unlikely for Rousey to retain her title, but then there will not be many opponents to challenge her for the title. Such cases could be Bayley, Sasha Banks and Natalya (with a heel turn).

That said, such a scenario (Jax to become the champion) could help the company create new storylines and have Rousey focus entirely on Lynch and Flair.

Overall, Rousey will likely be ready physically for her match against Nia Jax. But, at the same time, it is her mental preparation that will determine the winner. And, right now, she doesn’t seem mentally ready for her title match at TLC.
