List Of Wrestlers We Should Be Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving to all everyone, RatedRKO once again. Well, it’s that time of the year again. Where everybody gathers around the dinner table centered by a big turkey and just pig out. Food is just one of the things that we should be thankful for. The same thing applies in wrestling. There are just certain wrestlers that we should appreciate that we have today, and here is the list.

The Shield: Since making their debut at the Survivor Series PPV last year, we have been graced with three, young superb athletes. They have broken barriers, put on matches that had us on the edge of our seats and have entertained. If it wasn’t for The Shield, we wouldn’t have seen Undertaker on RAW and Smackdown of this year. I could go on about this group, but the fact remains that this trio comprises of three people that we should be thankful for.

CM Punk: CM Punk, above all, has proven that a young man from the Indies can make it in the big leagues. You just have to want it. Punk had the attitude of someone who wanted to be great, and he went and took care of it personally. Back in 2011, he was tired of being misused and aired his grievances in one of the more legit shoots in wrestling history. Since then he has enjoyed the 6th longest WWE Title reign in history, rose to the top of the WWE food chain, and has feuded with the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker, The Rock and Brock Lesnar since that pipe bomb. To this day, he is very much entertaining and will continue to be for a long time.

Daniel Bryan: Daniel Bryan is unquestionably the star of 2013. He finally rose out of the tag team division and became more true to this nature. The absolute best technician WWE has to offer. In 2013, he has become a top 3 face in WWE (behind CM Punk and John Cena). He has put on a plethora of great matches, especially with every member of The Shield. Right now, his character is stagnant and has fallen out of the WWE Title picture. But it will be only a matter of time before he gets back to that status and become another wrestler who succeeded obstacles while wrestling in the Indies.

John Cena: For those of you who are concerned for my health, I have already protected my house from the rioters outside. Hear me out. John Cena is the hardest worker in WWE. That cannot be argued. Not only does he have to wrestle physically demanding matches, but he has had major surgeries while doing more promotional work across the country. Let’s not forget his contributions to the Make-A Wish Foundation, cheering up little children who have Cena as their biggest, major idle. At the same time, he is one of a few people who wants to even be in WWE. Some wrestlers hope they are not called to do a match and pick up their check. He works the hardest, and its the fact that he LOVES WWE why he even goes through all the trouble. And guess what else? He can put on a 5 star match? Don’t believe me? Watch his matches against Daniel Bryan, John Cena or even Alberto Del Rio. The dude can perform, don’t get it twisted. The fact of the matter is that John Cena is a wrestler we should be thankful to have, because he has done so much good for, not only WWE, but for us as well. We just have to realize it.

Damien Sandow: Sandow has a gimmick that works. He is that good old-fashioned, classic, narcissistic type heel. And it works. The dude can speak and give entertaining promos. All he needs to do is just brush up on some of his ring skills, and he will rise to the top. But he just so refreshing. There is rare amount of people in this world that can make the type of gimmick he is given appealing.

Antonio Cesaro: Just like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, Cesaro rose from ROH and has become an elite athlete. Now he has been used poorly but hopefully that will change. Why should we be thankful? He just has a great moveset. His combination of power and ability makes him the best of his class. He has swung huge men and has proven he can hang with little guys, like Daniel Bryan who always gives a great match. Cesaro is another type of wrestler who can just go out there and do his job right.

Randy Orton: Now people may make light of this choice but let’s be serious here. Randy Orton is just a unique individual. We have all been wanting to see Orton turn heel for half of this year. When we got it, initially, it was well received. Due to The Authority storyline, however, the WWE Title has become less about him. Remember back in 2009 where he was without question the superstar of the year? You know, the same guy who RKO’ed the COO’s wife and kissed her on top of it? The same guy who punted Vince in the head? The same guy who punted Shane-O-Mac? What we are seeing from Orton right now isn’t the best he can do as a heel. We have seen better. It is just up to WWE to change his character to being more sadistic instead of a coward who always requests the help of The Authority. Orton is one of a kind.

Goldust: Goldust shouldn’t be performing at this level due to his age. Yet he has been able to hang with the young people, like Cesaro, Swagger and The Shield. We should be thankful we have great athletes like him who are able to keep in shape and put on absolutely tremendous matches, like at Battleground and the RAW after it.

Did I miss anybody? Comment below and tell me. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!
