El Rey issued a press release that promoted Sexy Star’s Lucha Underground Championship win on last night’s episode. The win makes her the first woman to hold the championship:
On Wednesday, November 16th Sexy Star dominated the Lucha Underground Temple, obliterating her competitors to become the new Lucha Underground Champion, making her the first female wrestler to ever hold the title. She defeated nineteen of “Lucha Underground’s”finest masked heroes and villains to claim her spot in Lucha Libre history.
