The 24/7 Championship Scene

Technically speaking, the 24/7 Championship is a midcard title. It’s nowhere near on the same level—even with the US and IC belts losing prestige as time goes on—but it’s still distinctly not a world title, nor a tag title.

This “tertiary” championship, in a sense, is one of the most useless things in WWE. It’s never meant anything and is only used for cheap pops once in a while and as a promotional tool to incorporate celebrities and angles WWE wants to give a slight boost to, but doesn’t want to actually put any weight behind.

At the moment, this belt is hovering four particular names. It’s essentially been staying on Dana Brooke as the anchor while she receives help from Reggie in evading Tamina and Akira Tozawa.

R-Truth hasn’t even been going after it the past few weeks, oddly enough. That’s his baby!

Instead, the focus has been on the budding romances. Reggie was interested in Brooke, but when she said they were just friends, he pinned her for the title. The following week, he apologized for his actions and basically allowed Brooke to win the belt back, which she did with a kiss.

Since then, they’ve been an on-screen couple. Meanwhile, Tozawa has been running around long enough with Tamina that he’s developed a crush. That, too, was cast aside at first, until randomly, Tamina decided to kiss him.

It’s a rather worthless angle for a valueless championship and it’s highly unlikely any of this will factor into the plans for WrestleMania, unless there is a brief moment where they’ll be running around. This is certainly not going to be a dedicated match.
