March to WrestleMania 38 Preview: Crash Course Recap of the Tag Team Titles

The blue brand doesn’t have it much better than Raw in terms of building up a decent tag title match for WrestleMania. In fact, it’s even worse.

The Usos said they have no opponents. Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura came out to say, in so many words, “How about us?”

That’s it. Sadly, that isn’t an exaggeration or downplaying things. Those two literally just said they exist and the match was made. Since The Usos had already beaten The Viking Raiders and every other team is either worthless or busy, this became the default only available way to go.

In terms of breaking down any kind of metrics, The Usos have held the titles 240+ days after winning them from The Mysterios during the Money in the Bank kickoff on July 18, 2021. Meanwhile, Boogs and Nakamura have been partnered up with each other since around the same time. It was May 21, 2021 when Boogs appeared on SmackDown to play Nakamura to the ring. He didn’t wrestle on Friday night until August, but he’s been rather impressive since then.

In all likelihood, this is just how it stays. There probably won’t be any interesting wrinkles added to this feud and the story will simply be “The Usos have challengers for their titles” and nothing more.

Riveting, isn’t it? The Grandest Stage of Them All and The Showcase of the Immortals and all that boils down to a card of mostly matches happening “because.”
