Notable Superstars Missing from the Card

Note: This is not a full list of everyone on the roster who is not scheduled for the show. It excludes some people who wouldn’t have normally been expected to appear on the show for some fashion, such as some jobbers, injured talent, etc.

Kushida and the Cruiserweight Division = The Cruiserweight Championship isn’t represented in this lineup by its champion (Kushida) nor any of the 205 Live regulars such as Ari Sterling, Asher Hale, Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese, August Grey, Ikemen Jiro, Jake Atlas, Curt Stallion (injured) and so on. Ever-Rise will be hosting a pre-pre-show, but that’s about it.

Hit Row / Drake Maverick and Killian Dain = Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Top Dolla, B-Fab and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott have nothing on this show. Scott just recently defeated Killian Dain and we can assume a match in some fashion involving those two sides will happen going forward to follow up on it (Adonis vs Maverick and such), but none of that was important enough for this pay-per-view. It makes sense to keep it on NXT TV.

Breezango / Imperium = These two teams will collide again. Just like Hit Row’s situation, it’s just simply not as important as the title matches. You could make the argument Xia Li and Mercedes Martinez aren’t as high up on the totem pole, but even that is a bigger priority overall and gets another women’s match on the show, rather than having Tyler Breeze and Fandango lose to Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner again, as great as those four are.

Bobby Fish / Oney Lorcan / Austin Theory = Fish had some unfinished business with Pete Dunne’s crew. While Dunne is in the title match, Fish and Lorcan aren’t, while Danny Burch is still injured. Oddly, instead of Lorcan and Fish having a match, Lorcan’s started something with The Way and recently fought Theory this week. This is kind of all over the place.

Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell / Dexter Lumis / Io Shirai = Speaking of The Way, the Women’s Tag Team Championship is the only belt not factored into this show. Likewise, without Hartwell, there’s no spot for Lumis to appear. Shirai’s return alongside Poppy makes her appear to be the next in line to challenge for the tag titles, but she has no partner yet to team with. My guess is we’ll see her team with Sarray and that’ll be the next feud for The Way post-TakeOver.

Finn Balor = He’s got to be coming back to the main roster soon, right?

Leon Ruff = After his feud with Scott, Ruff has been MIA. They probably just have nothing in mind for him right now.

Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa / Grizzled Young Veterans = These two teams are having a tornado tag match the following Tuesday night. Basically, if this card was the length of a main roster pay-per-view, this match would be on it.

Tyler Rust = Where’s he been?

Franky Monet = She’s just getting started and has no feud right now.
