Today, the late, great Mr. Perfect makes his first appearance in an OYDK, however, he may be wishing it was for another reason. Often regarded by those who know the story as one of the most disgusting moments in pro wrestling history, Curt Hennig found himself in a horrible situation one night during a WCW show. As many fans know, wrestlers like The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt often hide underneath the ring and wait for their cue to invite them out of hiding and into a run-in or appearance. This allows the wrestler to be just feet away from the action, yet never seen.
Hennig one night found himself booked underneath the ring. He and fellow performer, Scott Norton waited under the ring for about one hour before Hennig decided he couldn’t find a less perfect time to do what he was about to do.
Hennig was hit with the urge to poop. Hard. It was so overwhelming that he felt he needed to do it right away. He tried waiting a few minutes, but soon realized this was not something he could overcome. Leaving his hiding spot under the ring was not an option. He needed to take care of business. Hennig grabbed a bucket from under the ring, and released his fecal matter right then and there. According to other wrestlers working that night, the smell was absolutely horrid and apparently distracted some guys from working to their fullest potential. The bucket was infamously named “the emergency bucket”, and the name is still used today.
