The second installment of “Oh You Didn’t Know” is a short story told by the King Of Kings, Triple H.
As many of you know, Triple H took a hiatus from in-ring physicality after 2011. He gravitated towards the office life in that time, spending every waking moment collaborating with the creative team, and rebuilding NXT to make it what it is today. Although the Cerebral Assassin shined in his role behind a desk, his long, flowing “wrestler’s” hair didn’t fit in with his suit and tie. Triple H’s father-in-law, Vince McMahon, requested Triple H cut his hair in order to attain a more professional look. Triple H refused on multiple occasions because he felt his hair represented his time as a wrestler. Hunter had that hair since the first day he debuted in the WWF, and felt that a desk job shouldn’t dictate the ending of his beautiful hair.
After over a year of pestering from the Chairman himself, Triple H caved. He traveled to his normal barber shop and asked the barber, who was probably surprised by the request, to actually cut his hair. Triple H requested his short haircut that he sports now, however, he also requested that the barber cut his ponytail off whole and keep it. After the haircut, Triple H picked up his ponytail, brought it to a store where it could be framed and had framed the ponytail.
The following day when he returned to work with frame in hand, he presented it to an astonished Vince McMahon. According to Vince, he still has Triple H’s ponytail hanging in his office.
