Current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins appeared at Wizard World over the weekend and during his Q&A session with fans, Rollins said that Joey Mercury saved his WWE career while he was down in NXT.
Rollins explained that while in NXT, he was having problems with how long WWE kept him down there. He became frustrated by this and when talking to management about it, he was almost fired from WWE because he vented his frustration about being kept in NXT.
Rollins mentioned that thanks to Mercury he kept his job in WWE by putting him back in the right mindset about being in NXT.
