NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2019 is scheduled for this Saturday night, and when tonight’s go-home episode of NXT airs, we’ll know for sure which superstars aren’t set to compete at the show. However, it seems like all but one spot on the card is already confirmed, so we have a pretty good idea of how this will shape up to be, anyway.

As always, cards are subject to change and there could be any number of alterations to this lineup with surprise appearances, impromptu matches and so on, so nothing is truly set in stone. However, as far as the event is currently being advertised, the following NXT talent is not being promoted as part of the program.

It’s your call to judge whether these missing stars are being left off the card for justifiable reasons or not, so let’s take a look at the superstars missing from NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2019.

From the NXT and 205 Live Men’s Division

— Angel Garza: While he may still be part of WarGames, I doubt that will happen. He’s not much of a babyface and he has had zero interaction with The Undisputed ERA.

— Ariya Daivari: Daivari is mostly a 205 Live wrestler and not in title contention.

— Boa: Boa is out with a torn rotator cuff and torn labrum.

— Breezango (Fandango & Tyler Breeze): These guys are in NXT not to be the big names, but to have some fun and help some other guys along the way.

— The Brian Kendrick: Kendrick is more part of the 205 Live group, which isn’t a focal point of this event.

— The Brit-Am Bruisers (Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan): Lorcan requested his release from WWE and Burch has never been a priority player.

— Bronson Reed: Right now, Reed is in the right spot. He’s not overly utilized or pushed, but he’s not forgotten about, either. It’ll take some time for him to build momentum, but that’s okay.

— Cameron Grimes: This guy’s not going to be on Tommaso Ciampa’s WarGames team. That wouldn’t make any sense.

— Cezar Bononi: I feel it’s important to keep mentioning how this guy was once pegged as a future breakout star and promptly has never amounted to absolutely anything over the course of several years. He’s still employed, though. That’s something.

— Dexter Lumis: For some reason, Lumis has only wrestled once on NXT. Why is that? He’s the least shown person from the breakout tournament, which is strange.

— Ever-Rise (Chase Parker & Matt Martel): These two are still pretty much mostly just on the live event circuit.

— The Forgotten Sons (Jaxson Ryker, Steve Cutler, & Wesley Blake): Vignettes keep airing about them, but they were once again forgotten about for this event.

— Gentleman Jack Gallagher: Right now, Gallagher is on a bit of a losing streak, it seems.

— Isaiah “Swerve” Scott: Out of the list of possible candidates, there’s a chance Scott is on Ciampa’s WarGames team more than a lot of others…but I just don’t feel like it’s a guarantee.

— Joaquin Wilde: Wilde just cleared up some injuries and should be back in action soon, but probably not in any major capacity.

— Johnny Gargano: Johnny Wrestling was ruled out of competition due to a neck injury.

— Kona Reeves: It looks like Reeves is taking some time to wrestle on NXT UK in the coming months.

— Kushida: Kushida is out of action and on the injured list.

— Mansoor: In typical fashion, WWE hasn’t followed up on Mansoor’s victory at Crown Jewel.

— Raul Mendoza: Mendoza has been given a lot more spotlight recently as part of 205 Live and the cruiserweight division, but has had plenty of chances to become champion and is not a big deal to put on this card.

— Riddick Moss: In the coming weeks, Moss will be seen on NXT UK.

— Shane Thorne: It seems Thorne is seeking for a bigger role to play in NXT, but still waiting for that to happen. I could see him being given a stable or a team down the line, maybe with Bronson Reed. None of that is happening now, though.

— The Singh Brothers (Samir Singh & Sunil Singh): The Singh Brothers have been more focused on the 24/7 Championship than anything related to NXT.

— Tino Sabbatelli: Sabbatelli is still inactive from his torn pectoral injury.

— Tony Nese: Nese has had his chances at the cruiserweight title and come up short.

— Velveteen Dream: Dream is still out of action with a back injury of some kind.

From the NXT Women’s Division

— Aliyah / Vanessa Borne: Aliyah was written off with her nose injury, which excuses Borne, too.

— Dakota Kai: I can’t help but to feel like Dakota Kai is still going to make an appearance on this card, due to how much attention has been put on her not being picked for the WarGames team.

— Deonna Purrazzo: She’s still just sitting around with nothing to do, which has been the case since joining NXT.

— Jessamyn Duke / Marina Shafir: Shayna Baszler specifically said she wants these two on the outside.

— Taynara Conti: No more room on the card. Taynara is just too low on the totem pole to have gotten a spot.

— Xia Li: Xia Li is in the same boat as Taynara.

Male U.S. Performance Center Recruits

There isn’t much to say about these men and women. They’re not regular members of the NXT roster yet, so there’s literally no reason for them to be there on this card with limited spots.

However, if you’re a completionist and you wish to know who these people are, here is the list of current members of the Performance Center and NXT live event crew:

— Male Talent: Alexsandar Jaksic, Austin Theory, Babatunde, Big Jordan Omogbehin, Brendan Vink, Cal Bloom, Daniel Vidot, Denzel Dejournette, Dorian Mak, Edgar López, EJ Nduka, Faisal Kurdi, Hussain Aldagal, Jeet Rama, Jorge Bolly, Malcolm Bivens, Marcos Gomes, Mohamed Fahim, Nick Ogarelli, Omari Palmer, Ridge Holland, Rik Bugez, Rinku Singh, Robert Stone, Rocky, Saurav Gurjar, Tehuti Miles

— Female Talent: Briana Brandy, Chelsea Green, Jessi Kamea, Karen Q (injured), Kavita Devi, Kayden Carter, MJ Jenkins, Rachel Ellering (injured), Reina González, Rita Reis, Santana Garrett

From the NXT UK Men’s Division

— Nearly Everyone. As expected, not much attention was brought up from NXT UK in regards to WarGames. For the sake of discussion, the following male performers on that brand are not appearing on this show: A-Kid, Amir Jordan, Ashton Smith, Dave Mastiff, Eddie Dennis, Flash Morgan, Gallus, Grizzled Young Veterans, The Hunt, Ilja Dragunov, Imperium, Jack Starz, Jordan Devlin, Joseph Conners, Kassius Ohno, Kenny Williams, Ligero, Mark Andrews, Moustache Mountain, Noam Dar, Olvier Carter, Sam Gradwell, Saxon Huxley, Travis Banks and Tyson T-Bone.

From the NXT UK Women’s Division

— Nearly Everyone. Just like with the male performers, nearly all of the women’s division from NXT UK won’t partake in WarGames outside of Kay Lee Ray. The missing superstars are: Isla Dawn, Jazzy Gabert, Jinny, Killer Kelly, Nina Samuels, Piper Niven, Toni Storm and Xia Brookside.

Do you think these men and women or any others not on this list should have been booked on the card in some fashion? How would you have utilized them if given the opportunity? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
