The key reasons WrestleMania 32 will not be as bad as you expect

Rightfully, wrestling fans are not too pleased with WrestleMania 32’s card. While WWE’s roster was plagued with the injury bug at the worst possible time, WWE still had more than enough horses to put together a compelling card. Because of jejune booking, perfunctory storytelling and highly dubious matchmaking, many wrestling fans have low expectations for the PPV. But here are the key reasons why WrestleMania 32 will be better than most expect.

1. Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar should be awesome

Indisputably, Lesnar and Ambrose are the most interesting commodities in WWE. Both top-notch workers impeccably personate their personas to a tee. They remain in character throughout a match, and inject so much realism and liveliness into it by doing so. The dynamics are intriguing for this and should make Ambrose come across as the most courageous and resilient babyface ever. This match should also push the envelope of what is accepted in modern day WWE. These two are not holding anything back; it will be an apocalyptic warfare. Lesnar is going to beat the living hell out of Ambrose, and he is just going to keep coming back for more. The brute monster vs.never-say-die protagonist is one of the best in-ring stories to tell. Average wrestlers work the formula well; therefore, the sky is the limit with these astonishingly imaginative and gifted wrestlers.

This has the potential to be the best match of the entire weekend.

2. WWE Ladder Matches are usually always good.

WWE shoehorning a number of random competitors into a ladder match for the IC title was an unpopular decision. The more logical decision was to kick-start a new chapter in the already compelling Zayn vs. Owens’ tale. Besides, most of the story already wrote itself. All WWE had to do is put together their usual well-designed video packages, and people would be champing at the bit to see the match. Although this is not the best choice for a Kevin Owens WrestleMania match, it is loaded with ideal wrestlers for a ladder match. Plus, WWE’s Road Agents are always working and thinking hard to come up with creative, never-seen-before spots in ladder matches. WWE fails to do many things right these days, but they do ladder matches well more often than not. Because of the talent and creativeness expected put into this, this should be a very fun car-crash styled match.

3. A real Divas match

The Divas do not get much love at WrestleMania. They are put in a terrible spot of the card to allow the fans to cool off and use the bathroom. This time, WWE is throwing their three best women on their roster in a match together and treating them as an important aspect of the card. If WWE puts time and effort into this, this could be a good match. Don’t sleep on it.

4. AJ Styles’ first WrestleMania match

Anything is possible, but oftentimes Styles ever wrestling in WWE seemed slim-to- none. He is now making his WrestleMania debut; that is historic in itself. Jericho and Styles have put on some solid matches leading up to this one; and since this is the culmination of the feud, they will make every effort to deliver something that is WrestleMania worthy. Jericho moreover works way better as a heel and when he dictates the match. Expect this to be their best match to date.

5. Triple H has been killing it in the ring as of late

Roman Reigns vs. Triple H is far from the prettiest looking main event in WrestleMania’s history. Both wrestlers are undeserving of the spot. Reigns is the biggest machine-made and spoon-fed babyface in WWE history, and Triple H is a part-time wrestler who has been a jobber to the stars for almost three years. Despite there being younger, more deserving wrestlers than Triple H, no one can deny that he has been putting on awesome matches as of late. His match with Dean Ambrose was a classic, and his match with Dolph Ziggler on Raw was very good. He is in great ring shape, moving around better than he was 10 years ago. Reigns, on the other hand, may lack the charisma and personality needed for a main eventer, but he works hard and tells great stories in the ring – especially in high-profile situations. I hope that the crowd gives this match a chance. It would be a shame if the wrestlers work hard and tell a great story, but the crowd still dismisses and rejects everything they do.

Reigns winning and standing tall as a babyface will be such a flat and dismal ending to a WrestleMania. So, I also hope that, like last year, WWE has a trick up their sleeve to avoid disaster. The best bet would be for Reigns to turn heel and both figuratively and literally give the middle finger to everyone. Honestly, a heel run is his only hope of becoming a top-tier babyface of the future, because it would allow him to show more range and channel more of an edgy persona.

6. WrestleMania 31 looked worse on paper and turned out okay.

On paper, WrestleMania 31 looked like it would be a failure of epic proportions. The build was atrocious, McMahon was being very self-indulgent and nothing on the card looked very promising. It exceeded its
expectations and then some, and WrestleMania 32 looks much better than 31
did.

7. Lots of potential surprises.

Rarely anything is worse than when everyone can predict what will happen on a show; the outcomes are such a foregone conclusion that there is not even a hint of disbelief something else may happen, just a straightforward and mind-numbingly pedestrian show with no twists or turns. Because of a variety of reasons, many of things are up in the air right now. This Sunday, there could be surprise appearances and returns. Many of the match’s outcomes are furthermore in doubt while some are a 50/50 coin flip. This is far from a show where anyone can see everything coming a mile away.

Will WrestleMania 32 be an all-time classic or the turnaround show to dig WWE out of its massive cold streak? Unlikely. But despite what some believe, this will not be a terrible show. It has potential to be an entertaining show, and for the reasons mentioned above, I strongly believe it will be one.
