Tito Santana spoke with the Roman Show about his WWE run and more. Check out the highlights:
On if it’s time for a Latino to headline WrestleMania: “I hope so. It’s hard for me to tell. Who knows how they decide these things I think I wasn’t utilized what they could have done with me…It doesn’t look like the WWE is taking advantage of the Hispanic fan. There are so many. Hispanic fans love wrestling. You can go down the line. Hispanic wrestlers are amazing in the ring. You can pick anyone.”
On wishing he’d played a heel more: “When Strike Force, Santana and Martel, broke up I asked Vince McMahon to be the heel but I guess they had it all worked out that Rick Martel was the heel. But I always wanted to be the heel because they seem to have the most fun.”
On steroid use: “I never got into the steroids. We don’t know the consequences of the steroids, but I believe it had consequences on the guys that aren’t here with us. Also, stay away from drugs. You have to take care of yourself. I didn’t burn the candle at both ends. Back then when we were on the road I decided to take care of my body and myself. It pays off for a long run.”
