The road to Wrestlemania is looming closely in the distance, yet we have no clue which match will main event the show of shows. Usually around this time of year, fans have a clue what the Wrestlemania card might look like, however, this year WWE has kept fans on the edge of their seats. Which match will main event the showcase of the immortals? Here is my top five countdown.
5. Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar (Universal Championship)
The WWE has booked the Scottish Psychopath so strong that he is a legitimate contender for the World Title at this point. McIntyre has the look, intensity, and experience to be a credible champion. Over the last few months, McIntyre has racked up wins against some of WWE’s biggest stars and is now turning his attention to the Royal Rumble. If McIntyre follows through on his promise and wins the rumble, The Beast vs Drew McIntyre would be a hard-hitting, intense affair capable of main eventing the show.
4. AJ Styles vs Shawn Michaels
Now this one is more of a fantasy matchup/bold prediction, but over the course of the last year, multiple rumors of this match happening have surfaced online. I would be interested in seeing this match if HBK could perform at the caliber the WWE Universe deserves to see at Wrestlemania, but regardless, the match would be a massive box office draw and is extremely intriguing.
3. Braun Strowman vs Brock Lesnar (Universal Championship)
Braun Strowman has been WWE’s resident monster for the last year. His feats of strength range from tipping ambulances and limousines, to lifting multiple superstars at once and throwing them unreal distances. The Monster Among Men has been a constant threat to the Universal Title for more than a year now, bith his recent injury, Braun’s return may come just in time for Wrestlemania. Many fans believe that Strowman should have been crowned Champion awhile ago, but Wrestlemania 35 is better late than never. A Strowman vs Lesnar rematch is bound to be explosive and entertaining.
2. Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar (Universal Championship)
With the absence of Brock Lesnar becoming a huge part of WWE TV, there is nobody better to put in the ring with Lesnar than the workhorse Seth Rollins. Seth is on TV day in and day out producing classic matches and quality programming all for the fans. With his recent loss of the Intercontinental Title, Rollins can finish that program just in time for him to win the Royal Rumble and claim his spot against Lesnar in the main event.
1. Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair
Just a few months ago I still believed the women of the WWE were still far away from a Wrestlemania main event. Now, it looks like the most likely option for WWE. Lynch, Charlotte, Rousey, and the Women’s Title on the line equals an unpredictable main event that most of the WWE Universe would be into. These three Women have carried WWE on their backs along with Alexa Bliss over the last year and a triple threat match between the three would be an explosive bout sure to send the fans home happy. The match would serve as a reward for their hard work as well as a message that the women are tearing the house down and will continue to do so.
