As noted yesterday on the site, WWE pulled Kevin Owens from this weekend’s live events and replaced him with King Barrett. At last night’s WWE live event in Jackson, MS at the Mississippi St. Fair Coliseum, John Cena issued an open challenge for his U.S Championship after cutting a promo about Kevin Owens.

The challenge was accepted by Barrett but lost to Cena in the end.
It appears that this is the angle that WWE will do for the Saturday and Sunday live events that John Cena will be a part of.
