NXT Season 2 Elimination 2: Eli Cottonwood

The second individual to be eliminated from the second season of NXT was the 7’2″ performer – Eli Cottonwood. Cottonwood was accompanied by WWE pro John Morrison. Cottonwood’s first match on NXT took place on June 8, 2010, where he and Morrison would fall to the aforementioned Titus O’Neil – and his pro, Zack Ryder – in a tag team contest. Cottonwood would amass a record of two wins and two losses during his time on NXT.

Eli Cottonwood would be eliminated in Week 8 of the contest. He would continue wrestling in WWE’s developmental Florida Championship Wrestling promotion for the next two years. On May 18, 2012, Eli Cottonwood would wrestle his final professional wrestling match at an FCW event with a victory over Sonny Elliot. He would go on to announce his retirement from wrestling on July 10, 2014. However, he would make a statement on Facebook two years afterward announcing that he will continue wrestling part-time. Despite this, there is no record of any matches Cottonwood has competed in since the end of his FCW run.

Currently, you can find Cottonwood co-owning Florida Hardcore Wrestling in Palm City, Florida. He currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
