ROH Survival of the Fittest 2012: Jay Lethal

2012’s tournament winner would be ROH legend Jay Lethal. Lethal defeated QT Marshall to advance to the finals of the tournament. He would go on to defeat Adam Cole, Davey Richards, Michael Elgin, Mike Mondo, and Roderick Strong to win the tournament. Lethal’s opportunity at the belt would come at ROH Killer Instinct where he and Kevin Steen would wrestle to a no contest.

However, Lethal would pick up the ROH World Championship twice in his career. The first time, Jay Lethal would defeat Jay Briscoe at ROH Best In The World ’15 to gain the gold. He would hold the belt for 427 days, before dropping it to Adam Cole at Death before Dishonor XIV. In his second reign, Lethal would defeat Dalton Castle (c.), Cody, and Matt Taven on the June 30, 2018 edition of ROH Wrestling. He would hold the belt for 280 days before dropping it to Matt Taven at the G1 Supercard.

After dropping the championship, Lethal would go on to start The Foundation (a wrestling stable of people who believe in the grounds of Pure Rules wrestling). Lethal is currently signed to Ring of Honor Wrestling as an active in-ring competitor.
