With Carmella having broken the record for the longest holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase (280+ days), the question now is whether she will cash it in at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Following the end of the April 3rd edition of SmackDown Live, which was the last one before Wrestlemania 34, Carmella put an end to Edge’s record of holding the MITB contract and she currently is the longest holder of the respective briefcase.
However, the WWE seems to have no plan as to when and against who the talented wrestler will cash in her contract.
Carmella has teased cashing in her contract on reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in the past, which means that it’s likely she will cash it in on the winner of the Championship Match between the “Queen” and the undefeated Asuka.
As the company hasn’t decided yet whether the “Empress of Tomorrow” will defeat Charlotte and become the new champion or her undefeated streak will come to an end, the clock is ticking as to what will happen with Carmella and her MITB contract.
The fact that a title match between Charlotte and Carmella is advertised for this Tuesday’s (April 10th) episode of SmackDown Live could be an indication that Carmella, no matter who will prevail in the title match, will cash in her briefcase this Sunday and become champion.
However, as the cards are always subject to change, there is the possibility that the WWE will turn things around and Carmella will cash in her briefcase on the winner of the match between Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Championship.
In such a scenario, the talented wrestler will become a member of the Raw roster and will fight against either Bliss or Jax for the title.
The thing is that nobody knows exactly what will happen, as there are plenty of paths the WWE can follow concerning the “Princess of Staten Island” and her MITB contract.
Yet, as the company seems to avoid giving Carmella a push and making her the champion, maybe this is a sign that the WWE will have Carmella be drafted to Monday Night Raw.
Overall, the title match at the “Showcase of the Immortals” will show what the future of the “Princess of Staten Island” will be.
Because if she doesn’t cash in her contract against either Charlotte or Asuka, then it is very likely she will be drafted to the Raw roster.
