Welcome everyone to this week’s edition of Wrestling Whispers.

Wrestling Whispers will highlight some of the larger talking points this past week. Let’s see what had the community talking!

WWE HOF Inductees

We are just weeks away from the WWE Hall of Fame and fans are eager to find out who’ll be joining Batista and NWO in the 2020 HOF class.

According to WrestleVotes, the next names to be announced for the Hall of Fame are Jushin Thunder Liger and The Bella Twins.

The Bellas Twins’ possible induction has garnered mixed reactions from fans. While the Bella fans are excited about this honor for their favorite wrestlers, others feel it’s too soon for them to be inducted.

Undertaker and WrestleMania

With WrestleMania 36 just weeks away, many are wondering if The Undertaker will make an appearance.

The latest rumors say that The Deadman will be competing in a match at WrestleMania against AJ Styles.

Styles has been out of action with a shoulder injury he suffered at the Royal Rumble, but he should be well just in time for WrestleMania.

WWE Contract Status

Last Monday, it appeared that we saw the last of Matt Hardy when he suffered a beat down at the hands of Randy Orton. Many speculated that Hardy hasn’t signed a new contract with WWE and this was a way to write him off television.

However, Hardy will be on RAW this coming week to compete in a match against Orton. Before fans get too excited, this doesn’t mean that Hardy’s renewed his contract. There’s been no news Hardy’s future plans, but his contract does expire on March 1st.

Speaking of contracts, Rusev has been kept off television due to contract negotiations. Even though he’ll be competing in a tag match on this coming Monday on RAW; Rusev and WWE are still in negotiations over a new contract.

AEW & NJPW

Last week, viewers watched former NJPW and current ROH star Jeff Cobb appear on AEW: Dynamite; when he assisted The Inner Circle with an attack on Jon Moxley. For those wondering, Cobb isn’t signed full-time with the company; even though Cody Rhodes is trying to sign him to a deal. Cobb reportedly wants to continue working as a free agent and making appearances for other promotions.

NJPW is set to hold their Wrestle Dynasty event at Madison Square Garden on August 22nd. For anyone hoping to see Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho, they’re going to be disappointed. Even though they also wrestle for NJPW, AEW won’t allow them to work the MSG event.

Even though AEW are keeping Moxley and Jericho from NJPW’s event at Madison Square Garden; Cody Rhodes recently spoke out about how AEW is open to working with NJPW in the future.
