WWE NXT Worlds Collide 2022 Preview: Full Card, Match Predictions & More

Match Predictions and Heat Index Anticipation Levels

Temperature Scale = Scorching > Hot > Lukewarm > Temperate > Chilly > Cold > Freezing

Heat Index is my assessment of how interesting the segment is, including how excited I am for the match and how intriguing the feud has been. The hotter, the better. Scorching translates to not being able to wait to see it, while Freezing means I couldn’t possibly care less and think it will be awful.

NXT Champion Bron Breakker vs. NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate

Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: Bron Breakker wins.

Thoughts: Bron Breakker definitely wins this. There’s no way it goes the opposite direction. I’m not someone who gushes over Tyler Bate as much as the next guy. I enjoy his work, but I think his size does hurt him in certain scenarios, like this one. I can’t feasibly buy him beating Breakker any more than I thought Bate would put up a fight against Gunther. However, with some suspension of disbelief, I do think the match will be good. More than anything, I’m just happy to see NXT UK go away, as we’re overloaded with wrestling and this merge will freshen things up. I’m very glad they’re doing a proper unification and that Bate is the final NXT UK champion, rather than for the title to just be retired and to move on.

NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose vs. NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura vs. Blair Davenport

Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: Mandy Rose wins.

Thoughts: In-ring, this won’t be as good as Breakker against Bate. Not a chance. However, I’m putting it just as high as Lukewarm because I’m more intrigued about who will win. There’s less of a guarantee. I can see an argument for all three women walking out as champion. My gut tells me Rose steals a pin on Davenport after Satomura does the damage, but gets knocked out of range to cover. That way, Satomura can fight Rose one-on-one down the line and they can stretch out Rose’s reign and possible loss to Nikkita Lyons even longer. But I can definitely imagine Satomura just being the champion, or for Davenport to get the upset, if not for the surprise factor. Interesting!

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter (c) vs. Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H.

Heat Index = Temperate
Prediction: Katana Chance and Kayden Carter retain.

Thoughts: That’s neat that they not only brought two women from the main roster to fight for these titles, but that they were women from NXT and NXT UK, both based in the UK, originally. That’s about as close to the best Worlds Collide option you can get. I don’t have high hopes the match itself will be fantastic or anything, but I welcome the effort.

Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Ricochet

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Carmelo Hayes wins.

Thoughts: Why isn’t this a unification match with Noam Dar putting up the NXT UK Heritage Cup? I get that the Ricochet match will get more eyes on the event, as it is a bigger star coming down from the main roster, as well as a face vs. heel dynamic, rather than two heels, but that just means the Heritage Cup is lingering. That’s odd. Anyway, this match should be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to it. Hayes definitely should retain, as Ricochet is above this level.

NXT Tag Team Champions The Creed Brothers vs. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs vs. Pretty Deadly vs. Gallus

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: The Creed Brothers win.

Thoughts: The OCD in me wishes Gallus won the NXT UK tag titles so they could be the final champions, rather than Briggs and Jensen. However, I’m glad we’re getting this match, rather than just BJ and JB against The Creed Brothers, or some alternative to unifying the titles. We only need one set of tag team champions. All four teams are talented. This should be fun. The Creed Brothers are the real champs, though, and unless Roderick Strong screws them and we get Gallus as champions, I think Julius and Brutus have it.

How excited am I for the event as a whole?

Heat Index = Hot

Thoughts: While some matches could be better, I’m very into this event as a whole. NXT UK going away isn’t something we see on a regular basis. Hopefully, they all put on the best show possible to end with a bang, and we get some follow-up on why the Heritage Cup wasn’t included.
