“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…”

WWE RAW Opener:

This week’s show kicks off with a clip from SummerSlam that shows Seth Rollins holding up the WWE and U.S. titles. We then see a clip of Triple H promising to unveil the Rollins statue last week. Then, we see Sting crashing the party and attacking Rollins, leading to HHH making Sting vs. Rollins at Night Of Champions.

From there, the regular RAW opening video package plays and as promised, once we shoot live inside the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, Sting’s music hits and “The Icon” makes his way to the ring to kick off Monday Night RAW.

Sting says the last time he was here he was wrestling at WrestleMania. He talks about Seth Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight title. He says Rollins is no Triple H, and Triple H is the man he fought last time. He talks about all of the injustices he has seen in recent months. He says Rollins doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as legends such as Bruno Sammartino, Andre The Giant or The Ultimate Warrior.

“The Icon” talks about how he has won world titles all over the world but one has alluded him. He promises at Night Of Champions that will change.

Backstage: Seth Rollins & Stephanie McMahon

Backstage, Seth Rollins complains to Stephanie McMahon about what Sting said just now. Steph says Sting just spoke about how Rollins isn’t half the man Triple H is. She says she happens to agree with Sting. Rollins says with all due respect they build statues for legends. He asks where his statue is. She tells him to go ask Sting where his statue is.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

After that, Dolph Ziggler’s music hits and out he comes with “The Ravishing Russian” Lana. Ziggler will go one-on-one with “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev in a SummerSlam rematch next. On that note we head to a commercial break.

When we return from the break, Rusev makes his way to the ring with Summer Rae. The bell sounds and here we go with our first match of the evening.

The two have a lot of back-and-forth action until we finally reach the finish of the match. The finish sees Rusev hit a big kick and then go for The Accolade. Ziggler escapes. Ziggler hits the Zig-Zag but Summer breaks up Ziggler’s pin attempt.

After the match, Lana comes in to fight Summer. Ziggler picks her up and Summer runs into a kick. Ziggler and Lana make out on the top of the ramp as Rusev and Summer watch on from the ring.

Winner via Disqualification: Dolph Zigglerr

Beat The Clock Challenge
– Becky Lynch vs. Alicia Fox

We head back to the ring for our next match of the evening, and it’s our first Divas “Beat The Clock Challenge.” Our first match features Becky Lynch from Team P.C.B. and Alicia Fox from Team Bella.

The bell sounds and here we go. We see that Nikki Bella will break AJ Lee’s record for the longest reign as Divas Champion in 14 days.

The action in the ring goes back and forth until finally Becky gets her Disarm-Her for the victory. The win came at the 3:21 mark of the match, so that is the time to beat.

Winner at 3:21: Becky Lynch

WWE Intercontinental Championship
– Ryback (c) vs. Big Show

After a quick backstage interview with Rich Brennan, WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback is up next, as he is scheduled to defend his I-C title against Big Show.

We’re back from the break and we see Ryback making his way out to the ring. The Miz has joined the gang on commentary for this one.

They end up giving this match a little bit of time and while Big Show controlled a lot of the action, it was Ryback who took advantage of Miz distracting Big Show to hit Big Show with a Shellshock for the 1-2-3.

Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Ryback

Beat The Clock Challenge
– Charlotte vs. Brie Bella

In our next Divas “Beat The Clock Challenge” match of the evening, Charlotte of Team P.C.B. takes on Brie Bella of Team Bella. The time to beat in this one is 3:21, as that’s how long it took Becky Lynch to defeat Alicia Fox earlier this evening.

The bell sounds and it’s immediate from the jump that Brie is just trying to stall and eat out the clock. She keeps running out of the ring. Finally, Charlotte catches her with a neckbreaker and a Natural Selection for the win at 1:41, which is now the new time to beat.

Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens

We return from the commercial break and out comes Cesaro to a nice pop from the Tampa audience. After him, Kevin Owens, his opponent for this evening, makes his way down to the ring.

The bell sounds and here we go. Early on, Cesaro manages to control the action, taking it to Owens with big uppercuts and kicks. Owens ends up taking over the momentum of the match, and now he is clearly in control of the offense.

The match goes through a commercial break, as WWE actually gave it a good amount of time tonight, until finally we reach the finish. The finish in this one saw Cesaro go for the Cesaro Swing, however Owens blocked it and hit the Pop Up Powerbomb for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Kevin Owens

Backstage: Dolph Ziggler & Lana

He said he immediately grabbed a towel and covered up and told her to get out. Lana asks if Summer saw him naked and how that makes her feel. Ziggler said nothing happened and nothing will ever happen.

Braun Strowman vs. Dean Ambrose

We head back to the ring and out comes the new monster of The Wyatt Family, Braun Strowman. Both Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper accompany him to the ring. We see highlights of his debut last week.

Wyatt gets on the mic and thanks Sister Abigail for her greatest gift — “The Black Sheep” Braun Strowman.. Wyatt says tonight Braun will show the WWE Universe why he exists. He tells Braun to remove his mask and show everyone the new face of destruction.

Braun gets on the mic and says this isn’t the beginning, it’s the end. He says it’s the apocalypse. He drops the microphone and we head to a commercial break.

When we return from the break, Dean Ambrose’s music hits and out he comes. Ambrose will be going one-on-one with the new monster of The Wyatt Family, Braun Strowman.

The bell sounds and here we go. Ambrose tries to go at Braun, but Braun shakes it off like he’s nothing and takes him out. Braun is dominating Ambrose with ease. Braun knocks Ambrose out to the floor. Braun sends Ambrose into the barricade. He slams Ambrose’s face into the barricade. He takes him to the announce table but Reigns attacks him from behind for the disqualification.

After the match, the action continues, as Braun gets Reigns in his choke. Ambrose blasts him from behind with a chair but it has no effect. Harper comes in and joins in on the fun. Braun chokes out Reigns and Ambrose both. Wyatt comes in now. Wyatt does his upside down thing in the corner and then hits Sister Abigail on Reigns. The Wyatt Family pose together over Reigns.

Out first is Paige, accompanied by Becky Lynch and Charlotte. After she comes out, Sasha Banks comes out with Naomi and Tamina.

She says Ziggler wanted to work things out between the four of them so she invited her into his locker room. She says then out of nowhere he stripped naked and he invited her into the shower. She says she thought of Rusev and ran away as quickly as she could. Lana is crying. She walks off.

The Dudley Boyz vs. The New Day

The WWE Tag-Team Champions, The New Day, make their way down to the ring as we return to the ring for our next match of the evening. It will be Big E. and Kofi Kingston representing The New Day in this one.

Out next comes their opponents for this eveninvg, Bubba Ray and Devon, The Dudley Boyz. The Prime Time Players are on commentary and Xavier Woods is at ringside for this one.

The bell sounds and here we go. Big E. kicks things off for his team while Devon starts off for the Dudleyz. After a lot of back-and-forth action, we get to the finish, which sees Bubba Ray and Devon hit a 3-D for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Bubba Ray and Devon grab a special table wrapped in bubble wrap outside the ring. They go to put one of the New Day members through the table, but one of the other New Day members made the save and the group ran off as The Dudley Boyz stared them down from inside the ring. After the match we go to a commercial break.

Winners: The Dudley Boyz

Seth Rollins Calls Out Sting

As promised, Seth Rollins comes out and calls out Sting. He talks for a while and eventually gets around to demanding that Sting bring out and return his statue to him.

Rollins goes on to say that he doesn’t like the fact that Sting claimed he wasn’t as good as Triple H. Rollins says everyone knows he’s at least as good as Triple H and maybe some day he’ll be even better. He calls out Sting.

Instead of Sting, Stephanie McMahon’s music hits and out she comes. She says she knows she told him to call out Sting but warns him to stop talking about her husband. Rollins talks a bit more about how Triple H is past his prime and he’s the man right now.

Stephanie goes on to call Rollins the man and brag for him about how he’s got both the WWE and U.S. titles. He says he’s not going to be distracted. He tells Sting to come out here right now and tell him where his statue is.

This time, instead of Sting, John Cena’s music hits and out he comes to a big mixed reaction from the fans in Tampa, actually more positive than negative, at least at first.

Cena dresses down Rollins for a while until finally Rollins loses his cool and yells at Cena, demanding him to get to the point. Cena reveals that at Night Of Champions every title must be on the line, and while Rollins has a WWE title match against Sting, he will also be putting the U.S. title on the line in a different match at Night Of Champions, a match against him, John Cena.

Cena asks the person who really runs the place, Stephanie McMahon, if he can have the U.S. title shot against Rollins at Night Of Champions. She says yes. Rollins flips out. Cena leaves as his music plays. He stops at the top of the stage. Sting’s music hits. He stands next to Cena. The two stare down Rollins inside the ring as RAW goes off the air.
