WWE Recap Report of the Week: Highlights, Major News & Catch-Up Notes

Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE for those who may have missed out.

Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.

Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.

With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.

  • Seth Rollins cut a promo about how Rey Mysterio was sacrificed for the greater good. Aleister Black beat Seth Rollins by pinfall. After the match, Black and Humberto Carrillo were taken out by Rollins, Murphy and Austin Theory.
  • Later in the night, Rey Mysterio clarified that he’s not medically cleared to compete and isn’t sure if, or when that’s going to happen. “Damn you” was his response to Rollins, essentially. His son Dominick, on the other hand, is going to get vengeance. An eye for an eye.
  • Apollo Crews vs Kevin Owens was a no-contest for the United States Championship as they were both jumped by Angel Garza and Andrade. Then, Owens and Crews beat Andrade and Garza by pinfall in a tag team match.
  • The Viking Raiders beat The Street Profits in bowling with a score of 131 to 130.
  • Billie Kay beat Nikki Cross by pinfall.
  • R-Truth is the new 24/7 Champion after beating Rob Gronkowski.
  • Nia Jax beat Kairi Sane by pinfall.
  • Randy Orton cut a promo on how he did half-ass his career, but he still accomplished more than everyone else in the locker room, including Edge. At Backlash, he’ll prove he’s better than Edge.
  • Charlotte Flair beat Asuka by count-out when Nia Jax provided a distraction. Jax then steamrolled Asuka.
  • Drew McIntyre beat MVP by pinfall. After the match, Bobby Lashley locked in the Full Nelson on McIntyre and Raw went off the air with that happening.

  • Candice LeRae vs. Mia Yim ended in a double count-out. After the match, the two continued to brawl, along with Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez, as well as Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart. Johnny Gargano and Keith Lee then came out, but the Garganos retreated. It was then announced that William Regal switched this to a mixed tag team match, which LeRae and Gargano won by pinfall.
  • Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Tony Nese by pinfall.
  • Triple Threat No. 1 Contender’s Match: Breezango defeated The Undisputed ERA and The Brit-Am Bruisers by pinfall. Imperium then came out, followed by Indus Sher, just to put their names back in the title hunt.
  • Santana Garrett defeated Aliyah by pinfall.
  • Cameron Grimes defeated Bronson Reed by pinfall. Grimes was laid out by Karrion Kross after the match.
  • Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Finals: El Hijo del Fantasma defeated Drake Maverick by pinfall due in part to a distraction by the two masked luchadores who have been abducting people lately. Following that, Triple H came out and offered Maverick a new contract as an NXT star. Maverick signed and held it up high and proud to end the show.

  • Ricochet defeated Shane Thorne by pinfall.
  • Cedric Alexander defeated Shelton Benjamin by pinfall.

  • Elias is supposed to be out for months after the car accident situation, which Jeff Hardy blamed on Sheamus. Sheamus came out to say Hardy had another slip up and they fought, which Sheamus was victorious in.
  • Otis beat King Corbin by disqualification after Corbin used a steel chair.
  • The Miz and John Morrison were messing with Braun Strowman. They screwed up his protein shake, then tried to dump paint on him (but mostly got Kayla Braxton) and then smashed the windshield of his car. Strowman found out the van they were hiding in and flipped it with them still inside.
  • Lacey Evans beat Sonya Deville by pinfall after Deville was distracted by Mandy Rose popping up on the TitanTron and saying she’s a failure, not a fighter.
  • After a face-to-face with Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles lost to Drew Gulak by pinfall.
  • Shorty G and The New Day beat Cesaro, Mojo Rawley and Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall.
  • Bayley and Sasha Banks won the Women’s Tag Team Championship by beating Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss by pinfall.

  • Oney Lorcan defeated Tehuti Miles by pinfall
  • Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Gentleman Jack Gallagher by pinfall
