WWE should move away from the AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura feud

One last match between the two superstars will help the company put an end to this rivalry and create new storylines.

Following his victory at the 2018 Royal Rumble, Shinsuke Nakamura had only one target on his mind, to beat AJ Styles and become the new WWE Champion.

Fast forward to today, the Japanese wrestler has failed to accomplish his mission, as he has been defeated three times so far at Wrestlemania 34, the Greatest Royal Rumble and Backlash, respectively.

Either by pinfall, disqualification or no contest, the current champion has retained his title, however this feud has reached its turning point.

With Nakamura having a heel turn, he constantly provoked Styles and tried to distract him during his matches. This build-up was always coming to an end with a low blow, though.

As a result, it seems to me that this feud has started losing its interest and the WWE should find a way to put an end to it.

I think a Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship would be the best option, which would also let the company create new storylines.

For instance, AJ Styles could face Samoa Joe in the upcoming pay-per-views, with the company teasing a fight between the two in the previous episodes.

At the same time, Nakamura could fight for another title, like the United States Championship or the Tag Team Championship, as I don’t think the WWE aims to make him the face of SmackDown Live for the time being.

Given he is one of the top prospects in the company, he will certainly be granted more opportunities for the WWE Championship, but, for now, I think it’s better to move away from the feud with AJ Styles and challenge other superstars.

That said, it remains to be seen whether the WWE will schedule a Last Man Standing Match between the two superstars in the following episodes that will end their intense rivalry.
