PPV EVENT INFORMATION

Date: Saturday, November 19, 2022

Start Time: 7 p.m. ET (kickoff), 8 p.m. ET (main show)

Location: TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts

MATCH CARD, PREDICTIONS & HEAT INDEX ANTICIPATION LEVELS

(as currently advertised; card is always subject to change)

Temperature Scale = Scorching > Hot > Lukewarm > Temperate > Chilly > Cold > Freezing

Heat Index is my assessment of how interesting the segment is, including how excited I am for the match and how intriguing the feud has been. The hotter, the better. Scorching translates to not being able to wait to see it, while Freezing means I couldn’t possibly care less and think it will be awful.

MEN’S WARGAMES MATCH:
The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa and The Usos) vs. Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens and The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland)

Heat Index = Scorching
Prediction: The Bloodline loses.

Thoughts: Look at all the talent involved here. Woooo! This is going to be a lot of fun. The Brawling Brutes are going to make this rough, McIntyre and Owens will look strong coming out of it, The Bloodline is going to lose because Roman Reigns doesn’t need to take the loss, Sami Zayn’s story with Owens will continue and possibly start driving a wedge between he and The Bloodline…great stuff.

WOMEN’S WARGAMES MATCH:
Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Michin and ??? vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky), Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Team Bianca wins.

Thoughts: Without knowing the final member of Bianca’s team, it is hard to have a favorite in this match. I’m fully expecting that last person to be Becky Lynch, by the way. That makes me think the babyface team will win so Belair can move on and stop feuding with Damage CTRL. But they could just as easily have Rhea Ripley score the win for her team to reinstate her as the No. 1 contender and do that match with Belair that had to be put on hold. This is a 50/50 for me.

SINGLES MATCH:
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor

Heat Index = Cold
Prediction: AJ Styles wins.

Thoughts: This is what all of that stuff from WrestleMania was leading up to? A generic singles match between two guys who have already fought before, right after finally setting up a proper 4 on 4? Lame. Look, I get it. Styles and Balor are great in the ring. The match inside a bubble will be a fun enough segment if you turn off your brain and forget about everything that led up to it. But what a massive bust for The Judgment Day, Styles in 2022 and the entirety of this angle.

SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Shotzi Blackheart

Heat Index = Freezing
Prediction: Ronda Rousey wins.

Thoughts: It pains me to say it, but Shotzi is in no position to have this match. Not only has she not properly had her credibility built back up from the massive damage that’s been done to her since joining the main roster, but she also had an awful match with Shayna Baszler last week. There is absolutely no way in hell Ronda Rousey loses this title, particularly not now, and particularly not to Shotzi. So if I don’t think the match will be good and I don’t buy into any chance of a title change, and I haven’t been digging the setup, what is there to be hyped about?

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH:
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Austin Theory vs. Bobby Lashley

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Seth Rollins wins.

Thoughts: Boy. Mustafa Ali must feel bad, right? He gets humiliated on a regular basis and doesn’t even get to be in this match to make it a Fatal 4-Way. That shows where his place on the hierarchy is. Lashley’s not winning this, but I could see either Theory or Rollins winning. That gives it a step up, as unpredictability can be worth some major hype. All three guys are talented, so there’s that, too. I’m down for this, even though the setup has been clunky.

OVERALL PPV:
How excited am I for the event as a whole?

Heat Index = Hot

Thoughts: One match I’m not sure will be even halfway decent. Another that I’m not into, but it should be a fine enough in-ring contest ignoring what led up to it. One match that should be rock solid and two WarGames matches? Sounds like that balances out to a Hot to me.
