Match Predictions and Heat Index Anticipation Levels

Temperature Scale = Scorching > Hot > Lukewarm > Temperate > Chilly > Cold > Freezing

Heat Index is my assessment of how interesting the segment is, including how excited I am for the match and how intriguing the feud has been. The hotter, the better. Scorching translates to not being able to wait to see it, while Freezing means I couldn’t possibly care less and think it will be awful.

SINGLES MATCH:
Drew McIntyre vs. The Miz

Heat Index = Cold
Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins.

Thoughts: Young, kid me would be much more into this match before growing up to learn how often things are dangled in front of you in professional wrestling. The concept here is that the title isn’t on the line, necessarily, but The Miz does have Money in the Bank. In theory, he could cash in at this show and win the belt. He’s just not going to. It won’t happen. Guaranteed. So it’s really just a Raw match for the sake of having McIntyre kick his head off. I’m a fan of both guys, but this isn’t something that will make me feel must-see.

TAG TEAM MATCH:
Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks vs. Bayley and Natalya

Heat Index = Cold
Prediction: Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks win.

Thoughts: Wouldn’t it make more sense for Carmella to be in this match instead of Natalya? She’s the one feuding with Sasha Banks, after all. Whatever. It’s not all that important if the match itself is good. These women are talented. I see no reason why this isn’t an adequate regular TV match. Sadly, I can’t be all that hyped about it because that’s all it is.

10-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH:
Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and The Street Profits vs. Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, King Corbin, Elias and Sami Zayn

Heat Index = Temperate
Prediction: Daniel Bryan and his team wins.

Thoughts: This is the most interesting match on the card if not just for how many people are involved. I’m interested to see what shenanigans Sami Zayn does as an antagonist. Corbin is always great for a heel spot, too. Ziggler will hold down the fort for the in-ring work on his side. The Street Profits will have lots of energy and so on and so forth. It’s not going to be Match of the Year by any stretch of the imagination, but it’ll be the best part of the show. Babyfaces win since they always win at Tribute to the Troops. It’s about making people feel good.

OVERALL SHOW:
How excited am I for the event as a whole?

Heat Index = Cold

Thoughts: I think it’s great WWE does this. However, if I take away the charitable idea and judge it based on how I feel the hour will go down, I’m flat out not interested. I hate country music, so that performance will be torture. Then, the three matches are completely inconsequential and I can’t imagine them being so good that they’re worth going back and checking out if you missed it. But hey, this isn’t for me. This is a tribute to the troops and as long as they feel honored in some fashion and enjoy it, that’s what really matters.

What do you think is going to happen at WWE Tribute to the Troops? Which matches are you most excited to see? Keep the discussion going in the comments below!
