Over the years we have been blessed with some fantastic younger talent who managed to overcome the odds, silence their doubters and break through to become either a WWE or a World Heavyweight Champion…
A number of years ago that select number of individuals was not a lot, in fact it was very rare. Picking out one individual from a bunch of WWE superstars and saying ‘he is the future of the WWE’ it’s not easy, we know that. So, who are these select individuals? Who are these superstars who joined as nobodies, and could potentially became some of the biggest superstars in history? Here are mine..
Ryback
It won’t happen in 2015, and it likely won’t happen in 2016. But Ryback will be a world champion. He is doing everything right. His charisma is spot-on for his character.
One issue facing the WWE today is the realization that John Cena won’t be around forever. Since 2005, Cena has been the face of the WWE and like all great things, that will eventually come to an end. Kids are a huge part of the modern-day appeal of the WWE.
John Cena has granted more “Make-A-Wish” wishes than anyone. He’s worshipped by children, and he appears in posters on more of their walls than we will ever know. Ryback can be that guy. He’s already larger than life, literally. He’s huge.
He can amaze young kids with what he does in the ring. They can wear his shirt and scream “Feed Me More!” in the school yards. Will The Ryback succeed John Cena as the next top face? Time will tell. He has everything the WWE would look for when trying to fill this need.Perhaps the most obvious name on the list, and he is definitely backing up the hype
Bo Dallas
Another product of NXT where he was the NXT Champion, At a mere 25 years of age, he already has several years of professional wrestling experience under his belt, and his talent grows exponentially with every appearance. He is confident; he can work well with anyone in the ring and make others look good in the process too and backed by his speed and abilities.
The son of five-time WWF tag team champion I.R.S., and the grandson of three-time WWWF United States champion Blackjack Mulligan, Dallas brings a wrestling pedigree that is second to none. His brother, Bray Wyatt, competed on the inaugural season of NXT and was a member of the Nexus. Bo definitely has the right credentials to become a World Champion some day.
All you have to do is BO-LIEVE !
Curtis Axel
Formerly Michael McGillicutty who competed in NXT; he is the son of the legendary Mr. Perfect and Larry ‘The Ax’ Hennig.
He was introduced to the world on the 20th of May when Heyman announced him as his newest client on Monday Night Raw when he overcame Triple H in his re-debut, and beat John Cena.
Axel is no fluke, he is great in the ring, which is why he was helping The Rock train for his WrestleMania matches, and that’s the reason why The Rock recommended he recieve a big push sooner rathe than later, and was also backed by Triple H, if two legends are backing him, who are we to question the call?
Darren Young
Call me crazy but I have a good feeling Darren Young will be the first openly gay WWE World Heavyweight Champion one day. The dudes funny as hell and has a shit ton of charisma. He has constantly made me laugh every time I have seen him and he seems like he could be a good face role model. And the guy looks like The Rock, only with hair. What more could you ask for? Darren Young should be the next Money In The Bank winner.
Fandango
Reading Fandango, I can imagine the faces most readers would be making when thinking ‘how can this joke become a world champion?’ well if David Arquette can become a World Heavyweight Champion, Fandango definitely can!
The big negative in many fans eyes is his dancing gimmick, not many like it, some think it is different; and I am one of those. Not many guys at the back, in fact only a select few would be able to comfortably pull off this gimmick, whilst some would opt not to go out and embarrass themselves on national television, so credit to Fandango for that.
He defeated Chris Jericho at WrestleMania in his debut match and although Jericho is famous for allowing younger talent to break through, Fandango has performed well in the matches he has been in, and is managing to grow on many fans.
The fact that he can wrestle, he can work any gimmick even if it could be embarrassing shows his work ethic and determination to succeed, we will be seeing him as a World Champion within a couple of year or so.
Heath Slater
There’s something about Slater that makes him stand out from the WWE’s lower card that all blends together.
You may be rather indifferent toward the “One Man Band” now, but perhaps one day, you won’t be. Call Slater a scrub if you want, but I think you’d be wrong in that assessment., and he’s already put together a pretty impressive resume.
Oh yeah, he’s only 31 years old, too, so the future looks pretty bright for Heath Slater. I’m sure Heath Slater would love to be wrestling Seth Rollins for the WWE title, winning the Royal Rumble or competing in a major match at WrestleMania.
