Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
Supposedly, there is more chatter again that NXT Europe will be a thing that can launch later in 2025. For years, this has been a rumored replacement of NXT UK, that has yet to materialize for one reason or another. At one point, there was supposed to be even an NXT Mexico, NXT Asia, and NXT India, if not even an NXT Canada and more and more.
Whether or not there is an NXT Europe still remains to be seen, as WWE hasn’t announced anything. This is just rumor and speculation for now. But should it be?
My question for you today is “Is NXT Europe even a good idea at all at this point?”

As far as my answer…
No!! I’m going to echo what I’ve been saying about this from the very start, over and over again, for years now: this serves no real purpose.
WWE already has a problem with spreading itself too thin. NXT cannot sustain another whole program dedicated to a bunch of no-name talent that you have to build from nothing to 90% of the audience, as the only people who would be familiar with them are in Europe who watch the indies. That’s a relatively small amount.
Raw has 2.5-3 hours. NXT has 2 hours. SmackDown has 3 hours (which I pray goes back to 2 ASAP). EVOLVE is an hour long. LFG is an hour long. Then, there’s the pay-per-views. That’s already too much, and that’s not even counting Main Event, that nobody tunes into. Who is going to watch NXT Europe??
Who are the stars in Europe right now that we need in WWE, and why do they need to be on their own show fighting each other instead of just being signed to the company and wrestling for the regular NXT/EVOLVE/etc? The last time this happened, NXT UK was a fun and new concept and even that bombed. Now that people will know it’s the same thing as NXT UK, they’ll be even less likely to tune in, especially because there’s even more other alternative content out there to watch than the last time.
The only thing I can see working out—and even this is a stretch—is if WWE effectively buys out other promotions, like they did with AAA, and they just allow these territories to operate under the NXT banner, where NXT Europe isn’t actually a television show with pay-per-views and such in the same fashion, but just “some people in Europe now work for WWE as a feeder system and we can pull talent from there at any time if we want.” If that’s cheap enough for them to do, and they get something out of it, then sure. But I’m not going to be watching it, and I go out of my way to watch more than the casual fan since this is my job. I can’t imagine there’s an audience out there wanting this specific type of program.
That goes for NXT Mexico, NXT Asia, or any other offshoots, too. Across the board, I think this is a bad idea, and I don’t miss NXT UK at all.
