Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
Rounding out our list of predictions for this week’s pay-per-view lineup is All Elite Wrestling’s annual Double or Nothing event, taking place tonight with a pre-show start time at 5:30pm. Of course, stay tuned to eWrestlingNews for live coverage of all the results when that starts to kick in.
In the meantime, you know the score: My question for you today is “Who do you think will win the matches at AEW Double or Nothing 2025?”
Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.
As far as my answer…
Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs Anna Jay and Harley Cameron
Unless this is played for a laugh where Cameron gets the pin on Ford, I just expect Bayne to score the win for her team, straight-up.
Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Final: “Hangman” Adam Page vs Will Ospreay
To be honest, I’m surprised this is the main event. I was certain that would be Anarchy in the Arena. Maybe Tony Khan just wanted the potentially best pure in-ring world title shot type of bout to be the headliner? Maybe there’s something that will happen that will add some extra spice to it?
While it’s certainly possible Page wins this, I default to saying Ospreay will win since he’s not only the guy who initiated the conversation about the Owen Hart Cup this year, but he’s the golden child at the moment and an overall more likely candidate to win the title from Jon Moxley, in my mind. Page could very well do that, since it’s in Texas, but I don’t get the sense that he’s been hovering over that particular push.
Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Final: Mercedes Moné vs Jamie Hayter
I’m torn about this one. My brain says don’t bet against Mercedes, as she wins virtually everything. However, once the idea was put in my brain that Hayter could win due to some interference from Athena, which could lead to Athena vs Mercedes at either ROH Supercard of Honor or All In for either of their championships, that’s starting to make me doubt my gut.
I’m still going to say Mercedes wins, because I don’t have anything riding on this prediction, but I’m not at all as sold on it being a guarantee as I once was.
AEW Continental Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs “Speedball” Mike Bailey
Until I’m proven wrong, I’m going to keep repeating the same prediction that Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada will have a title unification match at All In for the International/Continental Championships and it will be renamed the Intercontinental Championship. I’m convinced of it.
In order for that to happen, Speedball has to lose here. He’ll have his moments to shine and look like he can win, but Okada will hit the Rainmaker eventually and that’ll be it.
Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) (c) vs The Sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara)
One of the most shocking results of this show would be if The Sons of Texas won the tag titles. They didn’t even do anything with MJF not joining the group where he could’ve screwed them over out of spite. There’s no reason whatsoever to dethrone The Hurt Syndicate and put MORE titles on Dustin Rhodes.
Frankly, I’m surprised this match is even booked. I’d have thought if anything, they would have been booked to get a tag title shot at All In, since it’s Texas. I guess Tony Khan didn’t have anyone else in mind?? It still seems strange to me, and that promo Rhodes cut on Dynamite didn’t do this feud any favors in my eyes.
Singles Match for the AEW Women’s World Championship: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs Mina Shirakawa
Shirakawa gets the rub for immediately getting a title shot, but she’s not going to be immediately crowned champion—least of all by sidelining Storm, of all people, and before the biggest show of the year.
Essentially, Shirakawa is a placeholder opponent to revisit so Storm has something to do. Maybe Mariah May factors in, but I don’t even think that will happen.
Paragon (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) vs The Don Callis Family (Josh Alexander, Konosuke Takeshita, and Kyle Fletcher)
Easy, The Don Callis Family gets the win here and whoever scores the pin starts to become the next No. 1 contender for the TNT Championship with a future match against Adam Cole in mind. That goes double for if they actually pin Cole to win here.
Tag Team Match: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs Nigel McGuiness and Daniel Garcia
It would derail the story of FTR being bullies too much if they were to lose here. Nigel’s interesting to see compete again, and I hope he’ll have a great performance, but I can see him taking the pin even more than Garcia. There’s a chance Garcia even turns on him.
Stretcher Match: Mark Briscoe vs Ricochet
In the interest in keeping momentum, Ricochet’s heel run could use a win like this over Briscoe far more than Briscoe can use a win over Ricochet. While that could always be the impetus for a Briscoe push, I don’t see those avenues as clearly as Ricochet keeping his steam by doing something dastardly to win this.
Anarchy in the Arena Match: Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Willow Nightingale, and The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata) vs. Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, and Wheeler Yuta) and The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson)
Flip a coin on this one, to be honest. I’m leaning much more toward the heels winning as a byproduct of Gabe Kidd getting involved, but there’s always a chance that even if that happens, Hook could make his return and offset Kidd to allow the babyfaces to regain the advantage. I think this mostly depends on if there’s a Blood & Guts match in mind for the next month or so. If so, I’m even more leaning toward The Death Riders and The Young Bucks doing something to put themselves over the edge. On the off chance TK doesn’t have B&G in mind, then this could be a one-off and the feud could end, in which case, there’s a little more chance the babyfaces win. However, since Page or Ospreay will be going for the title next, I think this is the end of The Death Riders against The Opps as the primary focal point.
