Should LA Knight Move To RAW? Who Could Be Traded Back To SD? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

As reported yesterday, WrestleVotes has stated that there may be plans in WWE to swap LA Knight over to the Monday Night Raw roster, with the intent being that it would freshen things up.

After all, isn’t that the whole point of things like the Superstar Shake-up, and the WWE Draft, which has surprisingly been absent from this year with no indication that it will be returning?

My question for you today is “Do you think this is a good idea to move LA Knight over to the red brand? If so, who would you trade, if anyone, to make up for it and be sent over to SmackDown?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

Absolutely, I think this would be a great idea, for numerous reasons.

First off, just generally speaking, WWE should be changing up a lot of the rosters. Far too many people have been feuding with the same Superstars for the past year and have exhausted all their interesting options. For example, I don’t want to see Gunther against Jey Uso all the way until WrestleMania 42, and I don’t want to see Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes anymore after their prolonged series, nor am I interested in any more Chelsea Green against Michin bouts or Iyo Sky vs Rhea Ripley anymore.

When it comes to LA Knight, he’s feuded with Solo Sikoa, Drew McIntyre, and so on as well. After his program with Seth Rollins and that group (which desperately needs to be named so I don’t have to type out all four of their names every time I want to refer to them), give me LA Knight against Dominik Mysterio to see how they cut it up together. Let’s see Knight in a feud with Chad Gable, or interacting with Karrion Kross. It’s been 3 years since he’s fought Gunther, so how does that dynamic feel different?

Knight strikes me as more of a Raw guy, anyway. The shows are essentially the same, but sometimes, people just seem to fit better on one program, and when SmackDown goes back to 2 hours (which I can’t wait for), Netflix having a half hour or so more each week allows him more talking time.

As far as who I’d trade over to compensate, I’d really rather just do a whole draft and shuffle the deck entirely, but if WWE isn’t doing that anymore, I’d probably send over Austin Theory. That sounds odd, but hear me out. They’ve been teasing splitting up A-Town Down Under for a LONG time, so sooner or later, they’re going to pull the trigger. Grayson Waller shouldn’t stay on the same brand as Theory, as I don’t think WWE is going to give them a proper feud. But if they do, it should be short enough that it doesn’t overstay its welcome, and Theory would definitely be the babyface, as he’s been set up more in that role.

Theory’s always struck me as someone who could get over better if WWE just believed in him long enough to let it happen. Every time he starts building steam, they pull the rug out with something stupid like his failed Money in the Bank cash-in attempt. Let me see him against Carmelo Hayes, going up against The Miz, facing Shinsuke Nakamura. If he stays a heel, pair him with Randy Orton or Jacob Fatu. He and Cody Rhodes could have a good match together, I’m sure. There’s even the potential to team him back up with Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano to reunite The Way, to an extent.

If not Theory, then maybe Jey Uso, to be honest. I want Jey away from Gunther, and I’m kind of ready for The Usos to reform a tag team, at this point.

But first, Knight has to be traded over for any of that to happen, and I think it would be the right call to make.
