It is time for another week of the Ultimate Power Rankings from both WWE and AEW. Who improved their stock from last week and who downgraded their position among the rest?
This set ranges from Monday (July 17) and to this Sunday (July 23). This means that all the results and highlights from this week’s Raw, NXT, AEW Dynamite, SmackDown, AEW Rampage, and AEW Collision will play a factor in where each superstar places on the rankings.
If a wrestler has a (+) next to their name, then that means that they moved up the rankings from last week’s edition. When there is a (-) next to their name, then that means that they moved down from the rankings from last week. If there is nothing next to their name, then that means that they stayed at the same spot.
Without further ado, let’s get into this week’s rankings!
WWE TOP 10 POWER RANKINGS:
10. Gunther (NR)
Gunther returns to the rankings after a non-title, hard-fought victory over Matt Riddle on Raw. This is all in the buildup to the eventual Gunther and Drew McIntyre clash for the Intercontinental Championship.
9. Thea Hail (NR)
Hail picked up an easy win on NXT by making Elektra Lopez submit. Hail then found out that she will face Tiffany Stratton in a submission match at The Great American Bash.
8. Charlotte Flair (NR)
Flair picked up a victory on SmackDown against IYO Sky on SmackDown. She was then attacked by the WWE Women’s Champion, Asuka. Flair, Asuka, and Bianca Belair’s much anticipated triple threat match was made official for SummerSlam.
7. Shayna Baszler (+3)
Baszler once again made short work of her opponent on Raw, this time dominating Nikki Cross. Baszler and Ronda Rousey then had another entertaining verbal exchange ahead of their match at SummerSlam.
6. Damage CTRL (-3)
Bayley was threatened by a determined Shotzi on SmackDown again, and Mrs. Money in the Bank, IYO SKY was defeated by Charlotte Flair.
5. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville (+3)
New Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned on Raw. Green and Deville defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to win their deserved tag team gold.
4. Seth Rollins (-2)
Rollins had a great sit-down interview with Finn Balor on Raw and got his revenge with an all-out brawl during the closing moments of the show.
3. LWO (+5)
It’s time to include Rey Mysterio in this list as the LWO remained strong with two wins on SmackDown. First, Santos Escobar beat Austin Theory in a non-title match and then Rey Mysterio won the fatal-4-way match to advance to the finals of the United States Invitational. Escobar and Mysterio will go head-to-head next week with a shot at the WWE United States Championship on the line.
2. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn (+4)
Owens and Zayn successfully retained their tag titles against Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio in the main event of Raw. This match was really the first time where fans thought the titles may change heads, but ultimately Owens and Zayn remain undisputed.
1. The Judgment Day
Dominik Mysterio has won singles gold in WWE. Mysterio defeated Wes Lee to become the NXT North American Champion and made his first successful title defense on SmackDown against Butch. Meanwhile, Finn Balor got his rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Priest still has his Money in the Bank briefcase, and Rhea Ripley continued to heat up her feud with Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s World Championship. Safe to say, The Judgment Day is dominating WWE for good reason.
AEW TOP 10 POWER RANKINGS:
10. Bullet Club Gold (NR)
Jay White and Juice Robinson proved yet again that they are one of the best in tag team wrestling right now. White and Robinson beat Action Andretti and Darius Martin in the opening match for Collision.
9. Jack Perry (NR)
Jungle Boy is no more, as the Jack Perry era has officially begun. Perry became a singles champion in AEW, as he defeated his former friend Hook to capture the FTW Championship on Dynamite.
8. House of Black (NR)
The House of Block retained their AEW Trios Championship on Collision in a fun bout against The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn.
7. Darby Allin (NR)
Allin made Rampage worthwhile by winning the Royal Rampage battle royal. Winning that, means Allin will challenge for the AEW TNT Championship at All Out, against presumably Luchasaurus.
6. FTR
FTR cut a great promo on their new #1 contenders to their tag team titles, Adam Cole and MJF. Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood will defend those titles next week on Collision.
5. Ricky Starks (-2)
Starks heel turn is continuing to build up, as he and Christian Cage defeated Darby Allin and CM Punk in the main event of Collision.
4. Orange Cassidy (-3)
Cassidy has fallen from the #1 spot, a position he held all the way since the #2 edition. Not to Cassidy’s fault however but do to a much-deserved week off as well as other superstars getting big time victories this week.
3. Adam Cole (+4)
Cole, alongside MJF, continue to be a big highlight in wrestling this week. Cole won the Blind Tag Team Eliminator Tournament, meaning that he will get the chance to become a champion in AEW next week on Collision.
2. MJF
The AEW World Champion will now look to become a double champion when him and Cole challenge FTR for the tag team titles.
1. The Elite (+4)
The (Golden) Elite won Blood & Guts, ending the feud between them and the Blackpool Combat Club. The match was bloody and brutal as you’d expect with the right team winning.
