What Are Some Other Immortal Moments Worthy Of WWE HOF Inductions? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

It was announced yesterday that the submission match between Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13 will be “inducted” into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of a new category dubbed Immortal Moments. Not much other information was put out there about what constitutes a moment worthy of being honored like this, but we can assume it applies to anything, not just matches specifically.

My question for you today is “What are some other moments in WWE history that you think are worth inducting as future Immortal Moment honorees?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

Naturally, I don’t want to just dump a giant list of moments and burn through everything that was important in wrestling history, but there are a handful of things that immediately stand out to me.

Without a doubt, Mankind vs. The Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998 inside Hell in a Cell is the next match I would induct if I were WWE. Not only does it get those two huge names on a future ceremony for star power, but it’s one of the pivotal moments in the company’s history as far as brutality.

Stone Cold’s “Austin 3:16” promo after winning King of the Ring in 1996 also springs to mind. Again, remember, this isn’t just about matches, but about moments, so it’s not as though they’d be inducting the match with Jake “The Snake” Roberts itself in to the Hall of Fame.

I don’t think WWE will necessarily go with negative moments like The Undertaker’s streak ending or The Montreal Screwjob, but they could go with the End of an Era match between Taker and Triple H with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee.

How about Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon for their WrestleMania X ladder match? That would get my endorsement.

Speaking of ladder matches, I could see an induction happening for the TLC concept as a whole between The Hardy Boyz, The Dudley Boyz, and Edge & Christian.

It wouldn’t shock me if The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan was inducted at some point, nor Hogan’s heel turn that started the nWo, if they’re allowing WCW stuff to be inducted, too.

CM Punk’s pipebomb is a guarantee. Daniel Bryan’s Yes Movement and/or his WrestleMania 30 finale could happen in the future if and when he leaves AEW, but they wouldn’t do that while he’s still with that company.

Maybe Trish Stratus and Lita for main-eventing Monday Night Raw? For that matter, eventually, the Triple Threat between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey closing out WrestleMania 35 seems like a future guarantee.

I’m not entirely sure I love the idea of inducting moments into a Hall of Fame, but given the rich amount of options they have (with this just being a few, but already would cover YEARS of inductions), I think this could potentially have a lot of steam to it.

What do you think? Drop your thoughts below!
