Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
On this week’s AEW Dynamite, Mina Shirakawa came out to some new music that was immediately hated on by the IWC. By the time the finish of the match hit, Tony Khan had already seen enough backlash that he opted to revert her music back to what it was before, making this arguably the quickest anyone has had some new music and then abandoned it for what they’ve already had.
My question for you today is “Which other wrestlers out there right now should go back to using their old entrance music?”

As far as my answer…
The first thing that pops into my mind is Sheamus. While I like the song he was using for a bunch of years, “Hellfire”, I don’t think it compares to the ol’ Lobster Head theme, “Written in My Face”. His music now, “10 Beats of the Bodhran”, is basically a bootleg version of Hellfire that isn’t as catchy, because Def Rebel seems to not really know what they’re doing and either poorly recreates something with less pizazz the way that WCW or TNA would do, or they take some stock song and put a crappy intro of the wrestler saying their name first.
I’d put AJ Styles on this list, but they already got to it, thankfully.
It’s a little too early for it to be a definitive pick for me, but I think overall, The New Day’s new theme just doesn’t work for me. I understand changing it up because of the heel turn, but it’s not as catchy and I think they could’ve made the old theme still work.
For my own sanity, I want Mercedes Mone to get new music. She can’t technically go back to her old theme, as that was WWE’s, but the CEO chants absolutely ruin such an amazing song. Speaking of which, Gunther should go back to using his original theme, too. This version they’ve created where it sounds similar, but has people chant “Gunther! The Ring General!” just isn’t as good.
Rusev’s new theme isn’t doing it for me. Go back to the old one.
Carlito’s new theme is trash. If he’s not coming out to “I spit in the face of people who don’t want to be cool”, it’s not Carlito.
Bron Breakker’s best theme was his NXT one, and I think that if they’re not going to give him something better, they should stop trying to give him other generic, bland stuff. His current theme doesn’t have the right energy from my perspective. It’s too slow, and I don’t think of Breakker as a screamo type guy.
I still think Rhea Ripley’s old music was better, and I wouldn’t be upset if they went back on Shinsuke Nakamura’s old theme, too.
Sadly, there are so many people on both rosters right now that have such uninteresting theme songs that I couldn’t even tell you what they are. If you asked me to hum Zelina Vega’s theme, I wouldn’t even know where to begin. Some of those would be better off with new music entirely, while others should have just stuck to their old CFO$ theme. It’s odd to me that WWE doesn’t have the rights to those songs in a way that they don’t commission them, pay for them, own all the rights, and never have to worry about it.
To throw in an AEW one, “Hangman” Adam Page’s music is nowhere near as catchy as his original theme. I know that’s a stock song, so they wanted to get away from that, but this option isn’t an improvement. Go back to the drawing board, or go back to the old theme. Don’t downgrade.
