Top Ten TNA Stars Who Fit In WWE (Pt. 1)

Everyone at one time or another has pictured what it would be like for some of the top stars in TNA to work for WWE. It’s easy to make a list of guys you would like to see from TNA end up in WWE, or even guys who you feel deserve to be in WWE. Today we are going to reveal part one of a list of guys that we think would actually fit best into WWE.

Basically, if you were to look at TNA’s roster through a pair of WWE-glasses, which guys would you want? Forget who you would like to see in WWE. Forget who you think deserves to be in WWE the most. Try and put yourselves in the mind of a guy in WWE recruiting talent. Who would best fit in WWE? If WWE were to sign the entire TNA roster, which guys would they actually use and give legitimate pushes to? Today, we are going to take a look at ten guys currently in TNA that fits that very description.

Without further ado, let’s look at numbers ten-through-six. Check back tomorrow for the top five.

#10. James Storm

A redneck who drinks beer, haven’t we seen this before? Sorry about your damn luck, but you’d probably have to undergo quite the gimmick change if you were to pass through the doors of WWE. Despite all of that, due to his size, pretty decent promo ability, and style of work in the ring, I think Storm would end up settling into a solid mid-card spot in WWE. Remember, we’re looking at his potential in the company through a pair of WWE glasses, not our own personal opinions.

#9. Samoa Joe

He floated around forever, even getting a match or two on WWE programming in the past, yet he never ended up with a legitimate spot on the roster. WWE has a long history with Samoans in their company and you’d be hard-pressed to find a better overall worker or talker with Samoan heritage than Joe. He has history with some of the top guys currently in WWE such as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan dating back to their time in Ring Of Honor, so if he ended up in the company, those guys could do some great stuff together in the ring and on the microphone.

#8. Jeff Hardy

Obviously Jeff Hardy could fit right in. He’s not only been in the company before, but established himself as a top act on more than one occasion. Unfortunately for Jeff, his last run with the company didn’t end in the best of ways, but if history has taught us anything it’s that WWE is always willing to forgive — maybe not forget — but certainly do business again with someone who has a less-than-flattering history with the company. Hardy can still go when he wants to, and with the work-rate of some of the top guys in WWE these days, could do some cool stuff in the ring with several of them.

#7. AJ Styles

According to reports, WWE doesn’t have a ton of interest in AJ Styles. Something tells me if TNA doesn’t remain in business, or is unable to continue to afford Styles’ growing price-tag, he will eventually end up in WWE. If he does, the question is how will he be used? Styles has a ton of potential and could certainly hold his own with anyone in the company as far as his in-ring abilities are concerned, but in WWE that isn’t always the most important trait. He would need to develop some kind of character where his promo style would work for him. Maybe give him to Paul Heyman, let Heyman do the talking for him, and then leave it to Styles to deliver in the ring. I don’t know. I’m no booker, but I have to imagine Styles would be a solid wrestler in WWE considering his talent and name-recognition among true wrestling fans.

#6. Sting

You could argue that Sting deserves to be higher up on this list, but I knocked him down a few spots for basically one key reason — longevity. Obviously Sting has seen his better days in the ring, however he certainly has enough gas left in the tank for one final major run — especially if it were in WWE. Sting is without a doubt the biggest name in the history of modern pro wrestling to never work for WWE, something that almost adds to his list of credits. Very few people in the modern wrestling scene can claim to be as big a part of wrestling history as Sting without ever once stepping foot in a WWE ring. Regardless, WWE seems to be making another push to sign Sting for a potential match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX. Sting in WWE would be huge for fans of 1990s and early 2000s pro wrestling. It would be a surreal sight, similar to Bret Hart appearing in the ring with Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon after the Montreal Screwjob. It’s something fans who have watched the sport for years thought they would never see.
