AEW All In 2023

AEW All In 2023

Date:
August 27, 2023
Location:
Wembley Stadium in London, England

Highlights:

  • In the main event, despite temptations and Roderick Strong’s encouragement, neither Adam Cole or MJF turned on each other. They ended the night united while holding the ROH World Tag Team Championship they won on Zero Hour. When the broadcast ended, they thanked the fans for attending before Tony Khan announced All In will return to Wembley Stadium in 2024.
  • By winning the ROH World Tag Team Championship, Adam Cole became the 8th ROH Triple Crown champion in the company’s history after an 11 year journey.
  • Nigel McGuinness announced the official attendance was 81,035, solidifying that to date, it is the highest attendance for a wrestling event on record.
  • Before the Trios Championship match, the stipulation changed to be No Holds Barred (House Rules). The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn won without any outside interference. House Of Black showed respect by physically handing the titles over to them.
  • During his entrance, Chris Jericho played ‘Judas’ with Fozzy. After being defeated by Will Ospreay, he snubbed Sammy Guevara, who had tried to console him.
  • In the moments after FTR retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship, The Young Bucks declined to shake their hands.
  • Saraya and her family entered with Queen’s “We Will Rock You”. During the match, The Outcasts seemed to implode.
  • Sting and Darby Allin entered to Metallica’s “Seek & Destroy”. Nick Wayne got involved with the Coffin match, but AR Fox and Mogul Embassy members (other than Prince Nana) were nowhere to be seen.
  • Konosuke Takeshita shocked the live crowd with a surprise pin on Kenny Omega in the trios match, who had received a warm reaction.
  • In the Real World Championship match, CM Punk picked up the win by using a rare Pepsi Plunge on Samoa Joe.
  • The event may be infamously known for a backstage altercation between CM Punk & Jack Perry between the end of Zero Hour and the beginning of the main show.
  • Mercedes Mone was shown on camera a few times enjoying the show. Otherwise, she did not get involved with anything.
  • Hook became the first two-time FTW champion in AEW history and the only other person to do it in the belt’s history aside from his father and the originator of the title, Taz.
  • Before Zero Hour, Miro and Powerhouse Hobbs had a confrontation. Also, Jeff Jarrett and his crew picked on Tony Schiavone, so Paul Wight, Anthony Ogogo, and Grado, showed up for a fight. Grado hit Jarrett with a guitar, and Wight knocked out Satnam Singh, before chokeslamming Jay Lethal.
