AEW Revolution 2021
Highlights:
- The Good Brothers helped Kenny Omega to retain the AEW World Championship in the exploding barbed wire deathmatch
- Post-main event, they left Jon Moxley in the ring as the explosion countdown began. Eddie Kingston rushed out to help him, but could only put his body over his old friend to protect him. As disappointing as it was hilarious, the explosion was far from what many expected. Kingston sold it way too much, and after the show, all Moxley could do was joke about it at Kenny Omega’s expense. Tony Khan later blamed it on Omega’s poor craftsmanship.
- Darby Allin and Sting fought off all of Team Taz in a warehouse, which was labelled a street fight. This was Sting’s first victory since he teamed with John Cena in 2015. This concludes the feud.
- Former Impact Wrestling tag team champion Ethan Page made his debut in the ladder match. Christian Cage was the ‘Hall of Fame’ worthy signing that Paul Wight hyped up for a couple of weeks.
- Scorpio Sky literally reached up for a brass ring to secure his #1 contender spot, and he will face Darby Allin on Dynamite.
- After it was stated in the buildup that Hikaru Shida had never defeated Ryo Mizumani in the 10 years they had known each other, she finally broke the duck and continued her run as the longest reigning champion in AEW history.
- The Dark Order helped out Hangman Adam Page, as the Private Party did their best to cost him the Money Match against their manager Matt Hardy. Afterwards, Page embraced The Dark Order with a big hug, possibly confirming he is now part of the stable.
- Miro & Kip Sabian viciously attacked Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor before their match, which gave them a huge advantage and the eventual win.
- Fenix & Pac of the Death Triangle were the last of the remaining three with Jungle Boy. He eliminated Pac, and Fenix threw Jungle Boy over the top to the floor to earn his team a shot at The Young Bucks.
- The Inner Circle team of Chris Jericho & MJF did their best to overcome The Young Bucks, but it wasn’t enough. Later on, Jericho stated they were going to have a ‘war council’ on Dynamite and changes would be made to the stable.
