WWE WrestleMania 39
Highlights:
- In the main event of Night 2, Solo Sikoa was removed from ringside during the main event. The Usos interfered later when the referee was knocked down, but Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens stopped them doing any further damage. Despite his removal, Solo Sikoa returned at the end of the match to hit Cody Rhodes with the Samoan Spike to help Roman Reigns retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
- In the main event of Night 1, Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens ended the show on a high note by dethroning The Usos to become the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.
- The host of WrestleMania, The Miz, worked a match on each show as booked by Snoop Dogg. On Night 2, Shane McMahon returned to WWE, but injured his leg so badly from a leapfrog that he could not stand. Snoop Dogg called an audible and finished the match for him with some punches and a People’s Elbow.
- Bobby Lashley appeared on the show but did not wrestle. Also, Bray Wyatt did not appear.
- High praise was given to Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio and Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley on Night 1, and the Triple Threat Intercontinental match on Night 2.
- During the Hell in a Cell match between Edge & Finn Balor, officials had to stop the match temporarily because Balor’s head was seriously cut open after Edge threw a ladder at him.
- Following interference from Judgment Day and Legado Del Fantasma, Bad Bunny took a chain away from Dominik Mysterio (left for him by Damian Priest) to help Rey Mysterio get revenge on his son for the months of abuse toward him and the rest of the family.
- Before their match, Logan Paul entered via zipline, which is the first time in decades this type of entrance has happened in WWE following the tragic Owen Hart incident. KSI was at ringside dressed as a bottle of Prime. Seth Rollins won the match despite interference. Logan Paul accidentally splashed KSI while he was laid on the announce table.
- Technically, WrestleMania 39 was the last WWE event entirely controlled by The McMahon Family, as the next day it was announced WWE was to merge with UFC’s parent company Endeavor. Also, WWE claims WrestleMania 39 was the highest grossing event in its history to date.
